How do I test my subs?

I was gonna drop my 2 shivas into my box today but. WOOPS, I dont even know if these things work, nore do I have the knowhow or the equipment to do it (I plan to have professional install).What do I do? last thing I want to do is put them in the box and find out that they dont work. ,'o \

my guess is take it to a shop!

easy test them for 10 secs free air. If they work, put them in a box, and hook em up!!!

You could also hook it up with the connection to one of your door speakers in free air if you don't have an amp.
