Ok so I just got my sub in its a DVC 4ohm wired down to 2ohms it's running like 600 something RMS it's bass isn't as clean as I'd like it to be it doesn't have that hard hitting thump it's got more a rattle or burst it was described as a burp noise if that helps here's a video to help if you can guide me to the problem so I can fix it I'd really appreciate it. I'm not good with car audio at all sorry if I'm noobish

Post up your box specs so we can check em out. It sounds like it's coming from the sub not the box itself. When you aren't playing music, press STRAIGHT down onto the dustcap (the center of the sub). If you hear a scratching noise when you press STRAIGHT down, then your sub may be blown. Do you have a digital multimeter?

x2 sounds like you have coil rub

Pushed down on the sub dead silent. Pushed as far down as I could with out feeling like I was going to break it. And I don't have a digital multi meter I have one with a needle though.

Specs of box are 36" x 16.5" x 11" with a 2.75" in width port that's 15" tall. The length of the port is 25"

Zero way I can have it tested with one that has a needle? I have all the settings a normal digital one would have I'm throwing togther a 2cubic foot sealed box to test if it is my port/ box size

that sub kinda sounds like it may be wired wrong to me...it could be the port also too big/not deep enough? buy hey..you should see some of my wood work! my saws stay put up these days..lol...check your wiring again, and the amp settings(lpf, not hpf) also.doesnt take much pull that sub out check wiring once more to be sure..make sure there is no air gap where sub is screwed down...that sub even with 100 watts bridged/mono should hit.just another suggestion to you.

you are around 2.65 cuft? some where in there..didnt take out for the port, but, box may be just a little big..have to look up your recommendations for the sub enclosure requirements, but 1.8-2.4cuft,seems to be ideal for a 12

Last time I talked to bob at american bass he said 2.5 and tuned to 36hz was ideal I tried haha. I have it wired negative to negative terminal then to the negative port on my amp same for positive if I'm correct this is 4ohm to 2ohm

Here's a little information that I forgot to include my subs left side negative terminal broke off. I ha to solder the thin silver fiber like wiring that connect the sub to the + and - terminals to a gold connection that I got from a subwoofer parts store online I had no problems with this and was able to repair the broken terminal fairly easily so I didn't really think of that. Could this be the problem?
