Sub Sonic Filter Question

Is a sub sonic filter necessary if the subwoofer in use will never see eneough power to reach maximum excursion (even below the tuning frequency of the box)?

try it. what's your setup? it's probably fine if you don't play 5hz tones at full tilt

My buddy's being given an L5 and a box tuned to 34hz.

The amp is a small little A/B 150watt Kenwood. Nothing fancy at all.

Was running some graphs on it and with 150 watts, it barely got 15mm of excursion at 10hz.

then don't worry about it.
