sub shows zero resistance

so i just hooked up all of my friends equipment, and when i tested the subs, they showed 0 ohms. i wasn't sure what this meant, so i went ahead and hooked everything up... i have an ac signal at the speaker wire, and i'm positive the speakers are wired correctly...but no bass.

if there is no resistance across the coil, then either you have no clue what you are doing with a dmm or the subs are done for

well, i do know what i'm doing with a ddm...thank you. so i guess they are done for. any explanation as to what this actually means?

make shure a wire didnt fall off of the sub or terminal cup inside the box. if thats fine then you have a bad coil.

well, i do know what i'm doing with a ddm...thank you. so i guess they are done for. any explanation as to what this actually means?

it is weird that more than one sub or coil would go bad at the same time. maybe you have some wiring issues?

well, the thing is....i had them wired up to my amp a few months ago. it pushes 400x2 at 2 ohms. and they are single voice coil 4 ohm subs, so in theory my amp was only pushing 200 watts to them...and they are 250 watt subs. nothing really happened to make them blow, they just hit for a few minutes, then stopped. even if they were wired for max power from the amp, only a minute wouldn't blow them would it?

if the amp is set incorrectly or the enclosure is not adequate, then yes it is possible

is that 250 max or rms ? if you wer pushing them for more then the rms on them is that might be a cause of the subs being done far
