So my lights never really dimmed at all, no matter how loud i played. (stock alt, stock batt) (no more then 500-1k watts.)

then the other day, i redid my wires. (i upgraded to 1/0 guage from front to back. upgraded from a 4 ga, kit basically)

i have the big 3 done in 0 guage.

now i notice that my lights flicker, pretty slightly sontimes, then at other times its really noticeable.

So i sat in my driveway, i checked all the wires under the hood, and everything is done right and well. nothing loose all connections are solid.

at first i thought maybe its the 3 amps. so i took the remote off one, and just had the front mids and highs and sub amp. didn't change.

then i thought maybe it was loose wiring, and something just jiggled loose when i was drving. but id on't think thats the case.

and the car cranks up perfect everytime. so i don't think its the battery.

could it possibly be, that the fuse going to the back was a 150 amp, and now is a 300a fuse?

thanks

kyle

they jsut flicker. not like a bass note "dimm" but they flicker like there is a loose wiring or something. and this is with nothing extra on, just lights.

Well i just went and double checked everything..

With nothing on, but the lights..

My truck cranked perfect. i popped the hood, and checked all wires (while on) and wiggled stuff around and it was fine, no flicker.

then i reved the engine and the lights would get slightly brighter, but it seemed like they were struggling to stay brighter. It was a constant, consistant beam. I twas flickering pretty noticeably. So i played with it a little more, hit the brakes reved slightly things like that. same

then i turned my truck off, and turned the lights on, hit the brakes, and the lights were fine, no flicker or dimming.

but its recent. i only noticed it after i upgraded my wires. the only other thing i can think of is the cap maybe. or the pull of 3 amps. but all of which shouldn't matter while the radio is offright?

yeah its just strange that i notice it (it started maybe) right when i changed out my wires. my amps are all olddd.

sony xplod 800 2 channel (sub)

just bought a bazooka 4x60 mids and highs. and an old street machines 2 channel 150x2 (so it says lol)

so i took the remote off the streetmachines..

i noticed the light dimming a few days ago. but i yesterday i noticed the sound getting really really distorted. like i was listening to a really crappy radio station signal. since then i havn't want to keep it on too loud or almost at all, cause i don't want to fry my amps cause of a low volt drop

plus its not the endo f the world, ive been looking into gettin a new mechman 250 amp alt. and either 2 yellowtops, or 2 d3400's , or a d3400 and a d3100.

so if im forced to go this way (beefing up my electrical) then i won't be too angry lol maybe its a sign. (cause ive had nooo idea what i want to do with my subs/substage.) if i beefed it up alot, i was thinkin an SAZ 3000d, and 2 aq hdc315's or somthing i duno.

but that is why im going sq with my mids and highs and deck first, subs later.

k im bout to gank the cap. but could i just leave the ring terminals on the wire, and just secure them with a bolt to eachother or something? (so i don't have to cut and get a new wire, cause im eventually going to put a second batt back there). Hypothetically would this work? (and not have any power loss)

Yes it should work. Just make sure the bolt is very tight and use plenty of tape to cover the connection.
