I want to upgrade my electrical but have a question

Right now I'm running about 1000 watts Rms for my system. I have an 03 grand marquis with a stock battery and alternator with the Big 3. But I want to upgrade my battery and alternator because I plan on upgrading my system later and it doesn't hurt to improve your electrical just in general. I don't have the money to get them both at the same time though so I was wondering would it benefit me more to get a bigger battery first or HO alternator? When I upgrade my system I plan on pushing about 2000 watts or so. And what battery do you think would be best?

well if your front batt is good.

get a good batt for the rear instead.

the alt is most important, but its also the most expensive. A rear batt can help mask the deficiencies of your alt tho so go for the rear batt first

In your situation, I would recommend a good front battery to start with. Then go with a good alt. Then add more batteries if necessary.

Ideally, you would do all three at the same time.

Any of the major Group 27 batts should work just fine.

IMHO, Optima's quality control has gone down the crapper.

Deka's are good, but they only have limited sizes in the Intimidator line. IIRC they have a 34 and a 31 group size battery. That kind of limits your options.

Is the stock battery in the rear like the 300C and Charger? If so, yes the 9A31 should be just a little smaller than the stock battery.

The problem I had with Kinetic, is that they were too tall for my ford application. In fact, now that I looked it up, your battery is exactly the same size as mine. It's an awsome battery!!

That 1750 is a small battery for the Charger. The stock battery is much larger than that. You can easily fit a G31 in the stock location of the Charger/300C.
