sub shootout: sealed JL vs. Clarion vs. JBL

Hi, I've narrowed down my choice of subs for a sealed box to 3. Im buying locally as online will not save me any money in the end as I live in Canada so duties will kill me.

Im looking for a high quality sound with tight response. Any difference dual or single voice coils make to the response or quality?

This will all be powered by a JL 500/1 amp.

JBL GT120 4 ohm 250W RMS single voice coil

I am leaning towards the Clarion as it seems like a good deal and I have reports its a good performer. I have heard the JBL in store and it did well. JL I have not heard but we all know it will do the job but at a lower bang for the buck.

dont you think ur amp is too big for those subs...Tell you the truth, I wouldnt want ANY of your 3 choices...

From what I have read the amp cant be 'too big' . Or is that wrong. Other amps are all 200-300 W in my price range so they will be struggling to deliver full power at 4 ohms. Any suggestions for an entry level sub then? Clarion sub is on sale as its the last of a few availible.
