sub recone measurements

What measurements do I need to see if a sub is able to be reconed? I have a pair of old school mtx thunder 7000s that one makes noise. id like to get a drop in recone for it if i can. Fixmyspeaker.com said they couldnt do it. the MTX website says they are 2.5 inch 4 layer coil

If PSi can't get parts for you, I'm not sure where you're going to go. You will want the inner and outer measurements of the gap (to 1/1000th of an inch generally), height from the top plate to the spider landing, diameter of the spider landing, height of spider landing to the top edge of the frame, and diameter of the frame.

Can you do drop in recones or would I have to send them to you? I think I contacted you a bit back but Im really leery about cutting the sub up. guess I shouldnt worry about it since it is making noise anyway
