type r cone came apart from spyder... what should I do?

Pretty much what the title says. I got 2 type r's and one sounded weird so i took it out and the cone came apart from the spyder. the other is perfectly fine... can his be fixed in any way? If not I can get one brand new for 110 whch isnt horrible but still *****. the leads are fine i checked those, and the spyder didnt just come unglued, it ripped of right around the cone. So there is still a ring around the cone that is glued on.

CN: spyder came apart from cone. can i fix it or do i need a new sub?

same thing happened to my buddy's Type R. Unfortunately, the coil former height isn't very tall which makes it hard to reglue the cone The cone was all creased up anyway from the coil nailing it after it decided to let go. It still works, just not too loud with no cone, lol

getta new sub a recone would be like the same price anyways maybe more if someone else does it for you

I had an hx2 do that last year. couldnt be saved but it's cool I had two more.

**** aight well since i bought from ocs they said they could give me a discount on the next one. anyone wanna buy a broken type r? lol btw what do u think caused this because i have my subs against the seat (almost) and i think it could have smackked it a couple times.... so hopefully the other one is ok.

Probably was not helping it much smacking up agenst your seat. How much power are you running to them?

yeah even if it hit the seat a couple of times that could cause some damage

u think the other one is ok? i mean it looks ok.... I usually have my back seats down thats why. im running 1000 watts rms to the pair at 1 ohm

I killed mine by running 50%+ over rms and not running a subsonic filter

this is actually a common problem with type r's , there not built as well as you might think.. good for a $100 sub but dont over power them like you can a bigboy sun like sundown or incriminator.. just replace dont bother trying to fix.
