What is everybodys opinion on the best sub manufaturer?? I heard JL audio are the best.....also how does pioneer rank? (IMPP)

there is no best!! some sound better to somepeople..

some put out more spl.

its all what sounds best to YOU!!!

if your going to spend GOOD money go for GOOD quality!!

but it all has to please YOUR ears, not your buds or your girls!!

shop and listen!! then shop for a good deal!!

No need to argue, just state your opinion, cause thats all it is...OPINION. Mine is between MMATS, JL, and Adire. Closely followed by Kicker, certain RFs, and certain MTX, and Phoenix Gold!!!

Ranger, when you say certain RFs, which are you referring too? and whats your reasons why you single out the others and prefer the ones you picked

By certain RFs, I mean the Power and Punch HX2. I love MMATS to death b/c I am a SPL junkie. Adire is a great company and a good SPL/SQ mix. JL is one that is close to me b/c of their all around greatness. The W0, W3, and W6 will always hold a special place with me, but the W7 is not my favorite. Kicker is a great company and their Solobaric (round) line is legendary as is the innovative L7. MTX is a good budget company and has some nice sounding stuff. Phoenix Gold always has good subs, but the amps are their strong point. Other companies that I am begining to enjoy and look at are Treo, Kove, and Digital Designs. All SPL companies.

Working on an enclosure for it right now. 4cuft slot ported tuned to 55hz ( resonant frequency of the car it going in) I'm gonna run down to the local shop and get it metered. I'm gonna try it with 1000w, 1500w, and 2000w. I'll tell ya how it does. Then when I'm done beating the crap out of it. Heh.. the 03 series 15 we played with was a bumming thing... the spider came apart from the basket after our CD player skipped and sent a spike through the sub...

I was not happy...

The guy is still waiting for the unit to come back repaired if memory serves me correctly...

Has anyone tried Crystal Subs? Im thinkin about maybe getting 2 12s after reading about them in one of the magazines. Im looking for a sub that is a good compromise between SPL and SQL. Im also considering aluminum Eclipses...any suggestions would be appreciated! -Drew
