i was driving and all of a sudden the sub quit. i immediately pulled over and looked in the trunk and no smoke and no stiffness of the subwoofer. Ive blown 2 subwoofers before and this isnt anything like it. This is a brand new subwoofer and brand new amplifier. Just got them put in almost 3 weeks ago. I had the same system before except the old amp had swollen caps so i just replaced the whole system after it blew the subwoofer, just had to attach the wires and it was done.
Amp is a JBL GTO 1201.1 II running a JBL P1222 12'' subwoofer. 4awg wires used
ive pulled the sub out, checked the wires inside the enclosure to be sure they are still on the sub which they are. Checked audio cables to make sure they are connected to the back of the deck and they are. Checked all fuses and all are good. Checked battery terminal, connected and no corrosion. Amp is getting power, confirmed with LED on other side of amp, protection light off, and 14.5v on the power wire with voltmeter. The amp has a clear plexyglass cover on it, no defects on the inside.
Not sure what else to check... Any ideas?
