Sub placement in my car

Ok i was told at competitions im not hitting the dbs i shoudl cause my sub box is directly behind my seat *back seat is taken out*, in my 1990 chrysler Newyorker. I know its louder and better sounding than when the subs where in the trunk. I need some suggestions here guys . Also keep in mind I wanna be able to see out my back window no matter what, ALSO there is no way im paying for anymore "professional" installs. Cause what they charge is bullshit. I was thinking of macking a half *** wall in the back seat but dont know where to begin.
