Sub Not Loud, HELP

Hi Guys, i've got a Sony XAV-64bt Head Unit, and 6 inch Sony Xplod main speakers with a couple of Vibe 4inch tweeters up front, i used to run a 10 inch sub tube with built in amp and it all worked fine, ive now upgraded to a JBL GT5-A3001 mono sub amp and a JBL GT5-10 sub, now i struggle to hear the sub, all the wiring's the same as before but no matter what i try adjusting on the head unit i just cant get the sound to increase, surely it should be blowing the doors off, any help appreciated as its doing my head in now.

How did you set the amp gain? What type of box is it in? Is the sub dual 4?

initially set the amp gain to 75% and its a single 4 in a ported box.

Your gettin 175watts @ 4ohm and after rise you might see like 80watts. Lol you need to get a dual 2ohm woofer so you can run the amp @ 1ohm and get the full power from the amp.

That is just a bad pairing of the components. You do need a dual 2 sub to maximize the amps potential.

Gotta learn sometime lol. Just ask some questions on the forum before buying audio gear. We will steer u in the right direction
