Sub just stopped working....what now?

taste this sticky substance similar to maple syrup...

if it has a sweet taste, then the coils are fine and havent bridged through the jump gap

if it has a bitter taste then mayby the amp paralleled the tinsle leads causing massive discombobulation

nice

You could touch the voice coil? Didn't know the vents were that big on those baskets.

Anyway, that might be glue?

I'd say check your connections, if all checks out try a different sub on your amp.And then also try your sub on a different amp.

Do you have a DMM? If so, measure the coils and post what each one reads.

well alright, took a few pics of the "substance" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif on my sub...kinda hard to see, sorry:

can't see it TOO clearly, but you get the point...

Where is the sticky substance? Can you edit with ms paint or something on the photo real quick to point to it?

Do you have a multimeter to read if the coils are OK?

When you push on the sub does it "feel" OK (when pushed in the center evenly... if you push on the side of the cone it may rub)

Thanks,

Scott
