Sub is off timing...possibly has to do with Bose factory speakers?

Hi, I just freshly installed 2 12" Jl audio subs, but on some songs it seems that the sub just loses the beat, so much that I find the bass and the rest of the music off timing. It only happens to some songs, mainly any techno. I read a topic on here that describes my situation exactly, and it seems he had used it with the Bose factory speakers as well. Right now I have:

2 x 12" JL audio (RMS 400W)

Sound Ordnance M1500 500Wx2ohms (mono amp)

Dual XDMA6510 CD Receiver

Original tweeter/front/back BOSE speakers

8g power wire

I've already got an aftermarket head unit. Like the other thread, I can turn down the music and it still will sound mismatched. I know the polarities are correct and it would be 180 if I switched them. The first beat matches up if it stops and then starts but then the match up will get worse and worse. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? I would guess it would be with the actual bose amps themselves for the speakers or something but I don't know much about sound equipment. Has anyone heard anything like this? Thanks for reading!

Usually the factory bose systems have their own built in eq/amp type thing. If its taking longer to get through that to your speakers then that could be your issue. It'd probably just be best to get yourself an aftermarket amp or bypass the bose eq alltogether

Yeah I think they do have their own amp system...Unfortunately I don't have the money to get the rest of the speakers upgraded //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Grab a cheap line output converter and tap into the factory speaker feed closest to your amp. Run the the rca from the loc to your amp. The sub amp will now be getting the same signal at time as the rest of the system. If the problem is still there then it is likely something else.

you could just try bypassing the factory bose system then. its usually just an eq anyway

I may try this. Would the line output converter create any loss in SQ?

When you say bypass do you mean like "not use" the speakers?

no i mean just disconnect it and wire the speakers up like you would normally without the amp
Are you sure that would work? I know that bose speakers have their own amps because they run off of 1ohm, not the usual 4 ohms

Do this.

You should be able to tap in prior to the Bose amp.

Don't bypass the amp, as who knows if your headunit can support your speakers. And even if it can, it will sound worse.

Okay I'm going to try it using a Schosche 2-channel line output converter and see if that fixes it.

Buy the cheapest one. See if it works. If it does spend 60 bucks on a good one. Good LOC's can be better than some headunits outputs. If you want one for free pm me. I have extra used one's lying around.
