sub imaging

not sure if thats the correct term but ive got an odd placement for a sub and i want to know how it would sound best.

the front row of a chevy avalanche has 3 seats but the middle folds down to make an arm rest center console. so my plan is to remove the whole middle seat and build a fiberglass box to hold the sub, amp, cupholders, and 2 8 inch screens with a dvd player in between. so the sub is going to be the item closest to the dash.

so i have a couple options for which way to fire the sub.

1. fire sub towards the front at knee level.

2. fire it slanted upwards towards deck/windshield.

3. fire it slanted upwards towards a point above the front seat headrests.

4. inverse mount it and fire it straight down between the seats.

which would provide the best sound? hopefully some sq guys can chime in and help me out.

thanks.

i don't think it'll matter to much really. it should still blend well no matter what.
ok cool. i was kinda thinking i should fire it towards the deck because it might skip...

ill probably fire it up towards the roof diagonally.

well if i downfire it itll be a good 17 inches above the floor. id really not have to do that option because it makes the sub most vulnerable to shit happening.( its going in a 17 year old blonde girls car) so ill probably fire it slanted towards the ceiling. i just wanted to make sure there was no major difference or problem id run into. thanks guys

umm..which part didnt you understand?

1. downfiring will put it between the seats and make it open to drunk people ****in with it. it will be about 16 inches above the floor.

2. ill probably do the sub firing up towards the back edge of the roof.

3. i wanted to make sure i wasnt committing some big sub mistake in placement..

seems straight forward to me...

Why would you have it 16" above the floor? And it's downfiring... so it would be much less prone to getting hit that say... firing up... as you are talking about...

Srsly.

because its going in BETWEEN the seats. the box is also going to be the armest/ center console because i cant change anything that makes it lose that function.idk about you but in my car, my arm isnt 3 inches off the floor...downfiring would expose the whole motor structure. if you had seen her drunk friend throw a cell phone onto the paper cone of my MJ-18 while playing youd understand the stupidity.

Yet again... what are you talking about.

Do you not understand the concept of a down-firing console box. Do I need to draw you a crappy picture?
