Sub ideas for a 99 Lesabre

Hello all,

I am getting back into care audio after about 10 years. All my past systems have been in small hatch back cars. So this will be my first system in a car with a normal trunk. I have a old Kicker 500SS I might sell but I can keep if you guys think its a good amp to run subs. I was leaning towards 2 12's but would be open to 1-15" or 2-15". First concern is good spl and sound quality is the second concern. I listen to more rock music but will listen to rap and bass tracks to show off for friends. My last setup was 2-12" Kicker solo-baric round subs run off a PPI A600....so yeah it's been awhile. I don't care about the size of the BOX and my budget is about 300-400. I'm open to getting stuff from ebay, classifieds or where ever. Thanks again!

Since your budget isn't much i'd probably lean towards the "lots of surface area, lots of box" since you don't have alot of power to start with.

Maybe get a couple of CVR 12's and just make the largest size box you can in order to make up for the lack of power. Tune around 40 hz is my opinion.

Also I will be upgrading the amp eventually.....by getting a second 500ss when I come across one to do one for each sub, or moving it to power my components and getting a single bigger sub amp. So I need room to grow on the power, also my budget is a little flexible if its the right woofer.

lol, it better be alot flexible! You can usually find a used sub on here if you wanna go on the cheap, like get a single 15" and just make the box a little oversized.
