Sub Destruction - Need Professional Opinions

All the more reason to add a pissload of ca glue under the basket.
Its not like you cant retap new holes either, or fill the old holes and retap.

Whether or not they were retapped, it's a shame the screws didn't fit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i will post a name when i find out what he has to say.if he takes care of the situation then whats matter who it is?
Because if the person who rebuilt that sub had rebuilt others and sold them, the current owners can check to make sure their's are not ****ed up either. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

hoping everything is ok considering the seller hasnt been on in three days since the day i sent him the message.sucks waiting every day to hear something about my sub.luckly puting my 2 dd 12"

I had the same issue from a sub from RE. I bought an 05 XXX from a friend of mine that was in need of a recone, because the motor had detached and messed up the sub. Well upon disassembling the sub, I found that the screw holes were completely stripped, and that whoever at RE had done the recone had just put some epoxy in the screw holes. The threads in the screws only had epoxy in them.

jerry, what do you expect is gonna happen with a 90lb motor hanging off a 1/8 cast aluminum plate-haha. Sigs have always been a great motor, just too **** heavy.

it is easy to redrill new holes on the motor, just have to properly center the basket. Can be done with some patience. I can prolly make you a pattern if you want, i have several laying around. PM me about it.

im not redrilling this motor i bought it.hooked it up bumped for a day and the basket came apart.i feel the seller is responsable for doing this not me.well he has finaly got on today but still no response and it is geting annoying that he hasnt sent a message.if he doesnt respond by tomorow i will post his name so all other buyers can stay clear of his subs!

so i got a response from the seller and this is what he said. i bought the motor from woofer cooker it needed to have the holes redrilled and threaded.i had a machine shop rethread it with 6 new holes. and then i took it to mad marks car audio in bradenton, fl to put it together.i paid $80 for the new holes and $60 for them to put it together.
