sub cuts out?

when i turn my amp all the way up, my sub cuts out, then when i turn it down it starts playing again, any explantation as to why this might be happening would be appreciated.

List all your stuff.....wiring, how u set ur gains.... My guess is your clipping?

Clipping, overheating? And when you say "turn my amp all the way up" im guessing its either. the gain Its not a volume knob.

I do not have the gain set all the way up, the cut outs occur when the bass knob is turned all the way up.
