sub break in?????

Do you need to break in a sub before running it at its power rating? No

Will a sub break in and have a different sound and a better response to the same power after a bit of time? Yes.

If your using them for daily then it doesnt matter.

If for SPL comps then it depends on the sub.

I've had some that were loudest after only 3 burps. I've had others that were loudest after 20 burps or for playing at moderate level for 20-30 minutes.

When I say louder I mean about .2 dB.

Most of the time all they need is to start playing at a decent power level and the glue on the spider fibers breaks up so it can move better. It takes about 1 second to do this. Some subs will slightly loosen more over time and the Fs of the driver can change giving it a slightly lower response. So playing a low note at moderat levels for 30 min. can do this.

hahaha man you are so **** funny, well i guess thats it for me, im done with car audio for good, now actually you say these things but this forum is meant to help new ppl with general info not to treat everyone like garbage, your pathetic dude
