i'd like to know what kinda crack you're smokin that you can find a new L7 12 for $100 cus i'd sure as hell like to smoke it....

They were built with sound quality in mind but I was (very) surprised when reports came in saying they got quite loud in a car audio environment.

I cannot comment on whether or not one will "beat" a Type R in sheer volume. So if its loudness that you want, I would probably tell you to go with the R.
