Hi, I just got a 2012 Tundra and I was looking into more advice on a subwoofer setup. This is what I've been looking at right now.

As far as enclosure, I was either going to go with

Qlogic TCM210 (holds 2 10"s) faces to the rear

Part Number

QLF-TCM210

Vehicle Application

2007 - Up Toyota Tundra Crew Max Truck

Location of Enclosure

Mounts behind the rear seat

Internal Volume

1.4 cubic feet

Bass Performance Match (BPM)

This is a Type 1 sealed enclosure

Accommodates

or

07-10 Toyota Crewmax Custom enclosure - Check Out Our Products!

One is rear firing and the other front firing. Anyone have a preference or experience with any of those enclosures?

As far as subs, I was looking into (2) 10's (4ohms)

Rockford Fosgate P3SD4-10

Nominal Impedance: Dual 4-Ohm

Power Handling (Watts RMS): 300 Watts RMS

600 Watts MAX

or

Polk-Audio-MM1040D

power range: 100-350 watts RMS (135 watts RMS per coil)

peak power handling: 700 watts

frequency response: 24-200 Hz

sensitivity: 91 dB

as far as an amp, I was looking into:

Rockford Fosgate Prime R1000-1D Car Amplifier - 500 W RMS - 1 kW PMPO - 1 Channel - Class D

or

JL XD600/1

400 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)

variable low-pass filter (50-500 Hz, 12 or 24dB/octave)

subsonic filter (30 Hz, 24 dB/oct)

or

JL JX1000/1

500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (1,000 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)

Class D amplifier design

MOSFET switching power supply

frequency response: 20 Hz - 150 Hz

Boston Acoustics GTA-1000m (GTA1000m) Monoblock Class D GTA Amplifier

600 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (1,000 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)

CEA-2006 compliant

variable low-pass filter (50-150 Hz, 12 dB/octave)

variable subsonic filter (10-50 Hz)

Please keep in mind that spacing is limited on amp size and subsize. Im leaning towards the jl xd600/1 due to the size. Both jl amps can be had for the same price, but what would there be that much of a difference with the JX vs XD? Id like to be able to fit the amps underneath the seats, or have it on the backboard between the enclosure and jack. Any advice an any other sub/amp combo would be appreciated.

Thank you for any advice

I think everyone will tell you to skip the prefab boxes and get a custom box. There a few people on this site that can hook you up with a great box. As far as your equipment choices; you could do better. What do you want out of this system? How much do you want to spend?

I know space is limited so I wouldn't mind (1) 12". Do you have any recommendations on someone that can make a enclosure?

I'm looking at 400-550 on the subs and box total.

Thanks

Thank you for your reply. What if I wire in series for 8 ohm load ? Sorry for my newbie questions, but wouldn't it have better sound quality...

If you have an OEM radio and amp, chances are that one has bass reduction as the volume rises to protect the paper cones from tearing apart. So if...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too
