Stronger Sub Stage

Along with the other threads I have going, (and weird problems with this setup) I wanted to get some ideas about a new sub stage.. Now this is far off in the future, as im ~$1700 in this install so I am going to take some down and time focus on other parts of the car. But I cant stop thinking about it so I thought id put some ideas out and look for others. Right now its an SA8v2 @1ohm on a SAZ-1000D. The woofer does well, but it starts to overheat very quickly (delicious glue smell //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) So I have bass in short bursts, and usually very little bass so I don't actually hurt it. I need trunk space but the trunk is huge on my car. (For reference the SA8 ported box didnt really take all that much room away. But I want more bass, the mids are crazy loud, and the bass is only loud enough if im hurting the sub. So, should I go for more 8s? or aim bigger, maybe a single 12? single 15? If I decide to go 15", its going to be a NightShade V3 (when they eventually come out Q_Q) on a 3500D. But thats a LOT of money(with batteries and runs of 0, and maybe a new alternator), and it might be to much for a daily.. But **** it would be nuts.

If you don't have a problem putting that much money into your system I think the NS v3 on the 3500 would be a good idea and I'm sure you'd be more than satisfied. But with that amp, alternator batteries and 1/0 are gonna be needed.

another thing to consider is if you overbuild your system you wont have to push it 100% all the time for desired results and not glue smell or other smells jsut loud

Yeah if I go that route, it would be ~$750 for the woofer (pre-order price) 600~800 for a used 3500D, D2400 $290 up front, and D3400 $260 in the trunk, and 50ft of KNU OFC $188, Mechman L 200A $300 Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I could run a single Zv.3 15" on a 2500D. used cut cost WAYYYYYYY down, and only the D2400 up front with OFC runs, no need for an alt or second battery with the XS up front and running the ground wire back to the battery hmmmmmmmmmmmm could probably do everything for under 1K if I go used.

The Z sounds like the logical choice. Save a ton of $$$$ and still get plenty loud.

My seats fold down so I plan to have it fire into the cabin //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The worst part of my current setup is the SA8v2 cant keep up with highs.. I dun goofed again.. My last setup was 2 SA12s on a SAZ1500 with a single working door speaker (lol).. So I thought, **** I miss the highs, so new car then mids and highs + amp for them. and small sub stage so the bass would over power them. Turns out they are nutty ******* loud and I have hardly any bass... Teh fak.. gg timtim gg

Just add 3 sa8v2's and still run the amp at 1ohm keep the subs cool at full tilt and add a lot more output with a well designed Ported box. The bonus you could get the three subs and new box for around 500 bucks. It would also only take up like 3 cubes total

Yeah, I think I over hyped my self on the SA8v2s or im doing it wrong (thats totally possible) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I bought one and a JL500.1 for my brothers Jeep, its in a sealed box we made from scrap wood. and its twice as loud as mine and sounds absolutely amazing for an 8. but mine wont get loud at all, or stinks to the heavens.
