Looks good. Is that 3/4"? Looks a little on the thin side.

Yes it is. The only part that is not is the inside port wall which is .5 but I have so much bracing and reinforcements it is stronger than the 3/4. I ran out of 3/4 and did not want to make a trip but like I said I went overboard on the bracing on that side since it was thinner but the rest is 3/4.

Gotcha. You like the L3's? I had a 12" L5 a while back in the Kicker box. I was pretty impressed. With all the crap Kicker takes it dug pretty low and got decently loud.

It has not broken in yet but so far it sounds pretty good for a ported sub. I got this sub so cheap that I picked it up for days that I want it loud usually I have a smaller setup. I am thinking about doing a sealed box as well that is much smaller.

I've got to agree with you. No Kicker subs except for the Solo Classics sound good sealed....

I don't hate the square subs as much as some people do. In the right box they sound decent. I definitely think they're overpriced but if someone is just looking to get loud and have some bass and can get them at Craigslist prices I say go for it. There's definitely worse subs out there. I bought a pair of Comp 12's a few years ago for the wife and they came in a little prefab sealed. I immediately put them in a different box. They sounded terrible in the sealed....

It sounds pretty solid in that box on most types of music on the radio pop and rap etc I have not listened to it playing metal or other types. Like I said I got it new for $169 and wanted a ton of bass for as little money as possible. My daily sub is a 10inch IDQ v3 in a ported box tuned to about 30 hz and it sounds great on all music and gets loud enough for me. But with 600 watts and that amount of cone area in a good ported box the L3 puts out a lot of bass and I usually listen to rap and techno with that sub for pure bass.
