SQ sub to handle 150 watts and budget

hello

dont need alot of output here. just some good sound quality and something that hits the low notes. its going in the trunk of a newer honda civic coupe. i would rather not spend over 130-150 on the sub.

so any suggestions for a single 10 inch sound quality sub that would run well off of 150 watts RMS and would sound good with rock/metal and costs around 130-150?

i did some searches and i was learned that image dynamics might be something to look into but everywhere i seem to look, they seem to be no longer availible (there are some 8s and 12's left on sounddomain.com) maybe i should go for a 12 instead? or maybe i should try a different brand?

thanks to anyone who replies

there is an old elemental designs flatcone sub for sale in the classifeds section for $100 shipped IIRC.

you could look for some image dynamics IDQ 10's on ebay.

at what ohm do you have 150w?

the 150 watts will be @ 4 ohm (2 channels bridged)

as for that ED 10inch...dont quite have enough wattage for it...

does ED make some good SQ subs?

any other reccomendations?

i dont often recommend elemental designs, but you might want to look into the 11kv.2 dual 2 ohm. they are $115 each, their old buildhouse was image dynamics (i dont know if they still get them from there or what) and you should be able to play the sub freeair. if you can cut a hole in your rear deck and mount a piece of MDF with the speaker there you would be set.

what kind of vehicle do you have to work with and where did you plan on installing this sub?

how are the SQ on those JL subs?

req: i planned on building a small sealed box for a 10 and throwing it in the trunk. the install will be in a 2001 honda civic coupe

enlighten me as to the difference between infinite baffle and free air. cuz what you described to me sounds like infinite baffle. i would also like to avoid cutting up the back dash if at all possible //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

now...why dont you usually recommend elemental designs? bad experience or bad product?

WOW @ those sale prices...does anyone here use these drivers? i am very interested....thx for the post prochobo

can anyone second the SQ of the AA assissins?

in the parameters of those assassins, it says that rec. power is 200 and RMS is 350

does this mean that the RMS operating range for these drivers is between 200 and 350?

well i am considering the IDQ 10 or the AA assassin 10 but the AA can be had for a third of the price of the IDQ (AA is 55 from ascendantaudio.com and the IDQ is 150 from woofersetc.com).....can anyone comment on the comparison between the two drivers??

and can anyone tell me if 150 watts RMS would be enough for either the IDQ 10 or the AA asassin 10???

as for the rockford fosgate punches...i havent heard that they were much for SQ
