I just got done making and installing my first speaker plate baffle thing.

Wanted to swap out my 6x8s for 6.5s.

Only issue I see is that the speaker is pretty **** close to touching the door panel. It may even be touching when its put on.

Heres the question, is there any way to tell if the speaker is hitting the door panel? Will it damage it?

Gahhh.

This is such a pain in the ***. I cut away part of my door so I could see and the whole freaking door panel is pressing on it. So Im either going to have to fiber glass kickpods (no idea how to even do such a thing), or cut out a 6 inch circle of door panel where the speaker sits.

Almost wish I didnt buy these stupid speakers.

Here is a tip my dad showed me take a piece of tape make it so its like double sided sticky than put a small dab or white paint or something like it on it and place the panel back on see if it touched or paint is transferred to the panel.

Use chalk, not paint.

Paint would leave a mark you cant get off the woofer.

Im trying to think of ways to fix this that dont require money. Only tools I have are a jig saw, table saw.
