speaker for re audio xxx12

hey all. gettin close to slammin together an enclosure for a pair of re audio xxx 12's for my sons 2011 mitsubishi lancer. was wonderin what ya'll would recommend for speaker wire gage.

prolly gonna be askin more as i go along in this system build.

Depends wattage length and or ohms most say 10awg will work I went with 8awg but I'm running 3500 watt to subs ..

2000 watts to each sub. not sure on the ohms yet, but i think im gonna find out real quick.

You'll be fine with 10 gauge. What year re xxx are you using? They typically require massive enclosures. And I doubt a lancer can fit it

brand new re audio's. as per craig(?) at re audio, i got enough room for the encolsure, and only enough for that and the amps. gotta pulll the back seats to get the enclosure in from the interior, but thats ok since i gotta hushmat the whole interior.

i'd use 8 gauge wire ,thats what i use personally and i keep a roll on hand ,for when i build my boxes

You could get away with 10g but Id personally use 8g too

i know too small isnt good, but is it possible to go too big?

personally, i think my sons nuts, buts its good! hes in the army and over in afghanistan right now. hes with MICO company and they are booooored, which tells me they dont have much happenein and God willing they will all return safely.

anyways,hes got me puttin in the subs, a pair of hifonics elite brutus amps( which may get upgraded quickly), a pioneer head unit that i think will do everything but drive the car for him, the alternator is gettin sent out for high output upgrade( no aftermarket ho alternators that i can find, and dont think there'd be one to put out enough amps), a monster battery( he's still deciding on which one, then i gotta fabricate a new box for it), big 3 wire upgrade, hushmat the entire interior and trunk, then i gotta do a rattle check( he wants absolutely nothing rattling, which i can understand), and some other things i cant rememebr right now.

i mentioned he may have to lok into a suspesion upgrade when its all done, and hes already thinkin about that, plus HP gains. yeah..hes nuts, but im gonna have the baddest sound system in the neighborhood til he gets home in september!!

12 or 10 will be fine 8 is overkill for most. Doubt u will notice a difference between the three

No cap and fat mat deadener is not good at all there is better for the same price 2 runs of 0 gauge wire for power and grounds frt to back and extra battery in the rear as big as you can afford and use agm batts and not yellow red or blue top. Look at xs power. Stinger Deka or c&d or even odyssey batts group 31 for the back and the biggest you can fit under the hood

on a budget if you have a sams club you can get a duracell agm battery they work very well for 109

this would be an example of the battery but you will save a ton with sams
