Yes, provided that the overall nominal impedence load presented to the amplifier is a load the unit is capable of sustaining. I ran 4 speakers off of a two channel amp in an old Buick I had for several months with no issues. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.giffor example : is it ok to hook up 2 speakers (mids and highs) to each channel of a 2 channel amp ? so you have 4 speakers running off of a 2 channel amp ?
So long as the final nominal impedence created by wiring however many speakers you're going to use off of each channel is 2 Ohms and the amp in question is stable at a 2 Ohm load, yes.sorry to post again just a question im really curious on ... if nobody understood me the first time ...
im askin if i can hook up regular 6.5" or w/e to each channel so it makes the amp work at 2 ohms .... or does that only apply with subwoofers ?
No, it won't. Seeing as you're not going to be inputting 4 discrete channels of input you will not have the ability to fade between front and rear. Other than that (refer to previous answers) as long as you don't tax the amplifier beyond its ability to safely operate it should work just fine.so if i had 4 components and and have a 2 channel amp then it would work just like a 4 ch amp (beside the .05%distortion increase)because thats what i was planing on doing
thanx for the help ... been bugging me for a while seems like nobody knew the answer
The short answer is Yes. It's generally a major pain in the posterior, however, getting the gains on multiple outputs matched exactly to feed the same driver. If you don't get both outputs matched pretty much to a mirror image of each other the two voice coils will be operating off of different inputs therefore reacting differently than each other rather than in unison off of the same input. This can lead to premature driver failure and that never makes anyone happy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gifif you have a 2channel amp can you hook up 1 channel to each voice coil of a DVC sub (under the conditions that the sub doesnt make the amp run at a unstable ohm) ... maybe that might work
If you can find a Dual 2 Ohm midbass then you can wire the coils in series (bottom option) to make a 4 Ohm load which will then be safe to be powered by the bridged rear channels on your 4004. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifIf i can find a DVC 2 ohm midbass sub and hook each the rear channels to each voice coil
