Someone please explain this...

I have noticed one thing that is very evident as an observation in terms of how the money is spent, not at all a thing of taking one side or the other.

In the current market of internet car audio, people will so easily go the cheaper route on amplifiers, but will save up for very expensive sub woofers. The point I am making here is the majority of inexperienced users are so worried about the pissing contest of boasting how many watts they have installed, and put very little effort into the actual install.

More power is rarely the best route. To effectively use it, it costs much more money then grabbing a cheaply built amplifier that has a sticker that claims 47giggawatts on it. The electrical is almost always overlooked, signal voltage is neglected, refining and testing different enclosures for sub woofers usually get the least amount of effort, sound deadening does not get the attention it should and lastly the self planning and research is much more then going online and making a topic of having a gaggle of people whom you have never met tell you what you should buy.

In no way am I saying buy a Zapco C2k 9.0 over a Audioque 2200, not at all, but the idea of more power is not always the answer, especially in these times of budgets for an non-essential thing like car audio upgrades not being what they used to. Use the same money that would go towards a fairly cheap big wattage amplifier, and put 1/2 towards sound deadening and 1/2 towards a used higher quality amp of lower power.

Just trying to get people to entertain the idea of thinking more efficiently, as in the end that is the best way. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I agree, my current plan is to get some beat back in my car, from there upgrade my electrical, deaden my doors, and in general build up my car for the next stage of my build.

Not only is what you said arrogant, but it's asinine, you do not get to label who is and who isn't an enthusiast based on what gear they run.
Actually, I think he's spot on. Too many people follow fad brands and pay too much attention to paper watts instead of finding out what works for them the best. You're not an enthusiast b/c you bought some garbage 2kW amp to power whatever monstrosities you have for subwoofers; you bought hype and not performance. The guys who do the most with the least are the one's you should pay attention to instead of whatever is socially acceptable on a web forum or is the proverbial flavor of the month.

No wai man. A good subwoofer/driver will correct poor signal and make up for lost energy/noise because it is implicit in its design. You paid more, better results are part of that deal, always. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

No, he's saying you should buy more expensive equipment because it necessarily works better. He's saying that if you don't do this you lack enthusiasm. He's taking a moderate point and skewing it all while making people laugh because of his poor attitude and a thick head. Not sure if he's trolling or what.

No. You misunderstood. It was exactly as he said.

See, i agree with what you're saying, but what you're saying is much more reasonable and understandable than what eCrack is trying to sell.

Then perhaps you should convey your points with a little less textual authority and assertiveness and realize that we may not read your post as you intended to convey them in your mind. I'm guilty of this at times as well. But to make a blanket statement that people who dont set aside money for equipment aren't enthusiasts is a wee bit excessive. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

It was the same thing.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
WHAT?! No, this is too blatant, you can't be serious. This entire thread, you were preaching about how if we didn't save up, and get what we really wanted, that we were not true enthusiasts. He is saying that people follow hype too much, and put too much emphasis on cheap power, which is similar to what denim said.

I can't be held responsible for a few people misunderstanding what I said... Since several have agreed with my statements and understood what I meant as I meant it, I don't feel that I failed in expressing my message. The discussion was about people continuously misinterpreting my statements so they would have something to argue. I think you'll see me saying that over and over again if you re-read.

You're telling me people REALLY want those cheapy amps that claim tons of power but are really junk? Silly... just silly gucci. You said you were going to stop... so stop.

So you're telling me it's my fault for misunderstanding you? Despite your rash statements?

Bebble booble bop.

If you dont understand that, I'm sorry. I can help you out though, it means I guess you're never wrong.

Still, by your logic, if i REALLY wanted one of those amps, and I save up for it and got it, I would be considered an enthusiast, by you.
