You really dont understand the difference between an earth orbit, and outer space, do you?Coal is a byproduct of heat, compression and carbon... Its very similar to a low grade diamond. This is only one form of energy. I agree that we should be focusing our efforts on solar, wind and hydro-electric power (not the dam type).
The "international" space station had a near miss from space junk just recently. All that junk that's floating around isn't just colliding with satellites. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif There are many more documented cases of collisions.
What's going to happen to the astronauts that we send up in space if they're being bombarded by this nuclear radiation? There's a reason all the extremely physically fit astronauts turn gray and have health problems at an early age. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif There's a reason they look so old in their younger years. Most of it caused by UV rays from the sun and other radiation emitting stars.
Here's a little light reading for you.... I suggest you take note... Chuck Yeager, "The Right Stuff".
You really don't understand your *** from a hole in the ground, but at least you're willing to learn. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifYou really dont understand the difference between an earth orbit, and outer space, do you?
I'll give this one last shot, for the sake of the discussion. If we jettison the material out of orbit as I suggested, why do you keep mentioning satellites, the space station, and astronauts? You really don't understand your *** from a hole in the ground, but at least you're willing to learn. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Im not suggesting we just toss it any random place. Space is vast (to put it mildly), it would be mind numbingly easy to dispose of it forever. Removing it from the atmosphere (and yes, orbit) is the key problem we face currently.Holic your idea seems a bit naive to me. (I hope that's the word I'm looking for)
I mean, it seems like you just want to toss the stuff into space like tossing trash into a lake and forget about it. That doesn't seem like a very future friendly option. I could just see thousands of years from now when we have space travel, people visiting Mars and seeing spent nuclear fuel rods and whatever other trash we decided to toss into space, just laying around littering the place...idk, maybe I'm crazy
Solar storms knocked out your CB in 1995. Interesting, but completely irrelevant to our discussion. Finally! Someone else that understands what I'm talking about. (Bubbagumper6)The US is only 1 of several countries that send people, machines, satellites, etc. I don't know if you know anything about radio communication, but anytime there is a solar storm or high amounts of radiation, its almost impossible to communicate. I remember around '95 or so, I was into CB radio and couldn't talk for almost a week due to all the noise and 'skip'.... Same thing will happen with our communication systems if we let all these free radicals travel all over.
Audioholic also assumes that we are the only beings in space and that our universe is the only one with life. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Research this: During the cold war some nuclear warheads were ready to fire and magically were "disabled" and not able to arm or fire when the time came. An outside force prevented their launch. Go ahead, its well documented. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I don't claim to have answers for everything or even claim to be all that "smart"... I just have common sense enough to not treat the rest of the world as a dumping ground. I also have common sense enough to understand that something that is highly toxic, ANY chemical or element is dangerous for humans or the rest of the environment. Common chemicals like isocyanates (used in epoxy), MEKP (used in polyester), lacquer thinner, etc are all very hazardous compounds but a lot of people handle them everyday, myself included. It doesn't mean people turn a blind eye to it and pretend they aren't risking their health!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
Preparation???Hmmm, what was this thread about again?
