So what's your plan

sounds like you are buying into the news station bs
candy was 1 cent a piece 30-40 years ago and now its $1...thats a HUGE jump

did people stop eating candy?

candy is a luxury , corn is more needed...people still eat candy

I ate snickers and M&Ms today, paid $2.15. I was pissed cuz 40 years ago it would of been 2 cents
But 40 years ago minimum wage was less than $2.00 so you have to take things in perspective.

Got any examples that actually apply to what we are discussing? You just listed something that has increased at a rate proportionate with the value of the US dollar. You can see how this 1 cent to $1 over 40 years is different from things we are seeing today.........right? I really do think we should be doing something to prepare in the event of the US dollar collapsing..........maybe i'm right, but hope i'm wrong.

that 1k acres in Ga is looking better and better every day!
Iam really glad I(We-my family) invested in the land. Dairy and beef cow farm directly next to us as well as many other farms around.

I work in Ga for 3 months out of the year(Oct-Dec and yes its cold as hell) and have a home there as well. Just out side of Ft. Benning.

Its nice to have a place in the middle of no where to go to if the situation arises. In a SHTF situation, a large city is the LAST place you

will want to be.

In my families emergency evac plan, I have 5 different ways we can travel to get there depending the the situation.(Mass evac and panic makes the interstates and main routes useless)

While you cannot plan for every thing, it never hurts to have "a plan" just in case because shit dose happen. We just cant say when it will happen.

Here is some food for thought...

Germany owns the majority of shares of the NY stock exchange....

China owns nearly 50% of US ports, almost all of them on the west coast.....

"On February 15, 2011 NYSE and Deutsche Börse announced their merger to form a new company, as yet unnamed, wherein Deutsche Boerse shareholders will have 60% ownership of the new entity, and NYSE-Euronext shareholders will have 40%."

China holds the most US Dollars, and they are starting to aggressively get rid of them.... What does that tell you...?

Someone said news stations, the news stations haven't even covered this issue, worried more about immigration, what clothes are in style, and other BS. This is coming from financial advisors and strategists, not the news stations. Something the average person wouldn't have... Government won't say anything about it, they will deny it right up to the end, like it doesn't exist, so they can save themselves first.

I asked my CPA about this yesterday, and understand this, he is the biggest "doubter" ever that crisis will happen financially, but even he said, "yeah, it's going to drop substantially, but I am a little pessemistic about it, more than others, I don't think it will be quite as bad as they are saying....but, that's just my opinion" So even he, big time doubter of these sorts of things, agrees that something is coming. Normally he would just write off any sort of theory like that as BS.

Just sayin, something is getting ready to go down, something we haven't seen before here in the US, and it would be wise to do something for your own financial security. If you keep on just worrying about "where am I going fishing this weekend" or "what game is on, how much beer your gonna drink", etc, and ignore the warnings, you'll be caught off guard. Read some of the things that people have posted here as links, be your own judge, but remember a lot of this information is coming from serious people in the financial world, not some extremist groups etc.

What's sad is that people are too arrogant to check into it............................sheep.

Yes, this is a PERFECT example of the normalcy bias at work.

We are all guilty of it to one point or another. Its just human, nothing bad, its how we are wired. Its just that we need to recognize this when it happens and adjust our way of thinking and reasoning with certain situations.

Of course Iam not talking of end of the word things here as there is nothing any of us can do about that. But for natural disasters, a collapsing economy or Heaven forbid an invasion of some kind, everyone should have some kind of "plan"

I have a stock of about a weeks worth of non perishable food, water, and medicines here (Fla) and about 3 weeks worth in GA. I also have about 100 gals. of fuel stored in Ga as well as about 50 here.(50 is enough to get both of my car's to Ga)

Think about it, if something really, really bad happens, there will be a massive run on gas and food so they will be on of the hardest to come by after the fact.

They say to invest in gold and silver. Thats fine but I suggest to also invest in ammo, food and a small emergency gas supply.

I keep an emergency cash fund on hand. Have a diesel generator with a converted 100 gal. natural gas tank for reserve fuel. Only keep about 25 gallons of gas on hand though. I have a pantry FULL of canned foods and about 20 gal of bottled water. I have converted 50% of my savings to gold and am currently converting the rest that i can spare into euros. Some may think this is extreme with the savings, but it hasn't cost me and i will eventually net a profit from the rising value of gold. Not having my savings in immediately liquid form also keeps me from tapping into it, not really gonna pay for a car with gold or euros. I know i troll and mess with people here, remember it's a forum, it's all for entertainment. However, i am 100% serious about this and hope people will check into things for themselves.

Nuclear power done properly, IS the way to go.
That's if you believe the "statistics" and hype behind nuclear energy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If it is so safe, riddle me this, Batman. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

In actual practice, there has not been ONE plant, US based or otherwise that hasn't had a major emergency.

BTW Today is the anniversary of the 3-mile island 'near meltdown'. Near, my ***.

Fact: Clean burning Coal energy has NO harmful emissions. Since the advent of double-burning and catalytic converters, it is possible to have Zero waste from burning "fossil fuels", which it is not. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif The pictures of the "smoke stacks" spewing smoke are old tech. The new ones are spewing water in the form of steam (converted from hydrocarbons).

Good tips on hoarding. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Unfortunately, that's what this once super nation has been reduced to. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Einstein was commissioned by the Germans to develop nuclear technology. He realized the dangers and inherent evil of his discovery so he quickly abandoned it and discouraged its use for a good reason!

I must say, I am very impressed by your guy's research. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I can't find anything I disagree with that's been said about the economy and powers that be.

This is the most open minded forum I've seen in a while.

If you want to get really scary..... What happened to Atlantis? What happened to the Egyptians and Mayans?

Every major empire fell at some point and there is very little evidence as to why it happened so suddenly.

There is no such thing as 'inherent evil' in a technology, that is merely projection of a human emotion onto an emotionless entity.

If the US would refine its 'nuclear waste' there would be virtually no by-product from the electricity our nuclear plants produce. The reason we dont is, the more you refine nuclear material, the stronger it gets, until it becomes so strong its considered "weapons grade". US politicians are so scared our own govt is incapable of controlling that fuel, that it assumes this "weapons grade" material would inevitably fall into the 'wrong hands' and become... well... weapons. That would be a safe strategy, if every country in the world also relied upon this policy. Unfortunately, most do not, and do refine their fuel, so basically weapons grade material is available, just not from US plants. We create nuclear waste for no other reason than to say that all the rogue nukes in the world "weren't made from stolen fuel from us".

Its pretty sad when our govt realizes it cant police itself well enough to keep its nuclear fuel from being stolen and used against us.

So what's your plan to deal with the rising cost and decreasing supply of basic foods in the world?
Don't eat much. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I'm already 126 and lose weight cuz I don't eat enough sometimes. Or get REALLY FAT NOW when food prices are meh and live off the fat when the food prices become WHAT OMG.

No. It was because he knew there would be no way to deal with the waste in a safe manor. He knew there was no way to contain the radiation in the event of a meltdown. He knew the simple minded people like war mongers couldn't handle having that much power at their fingertips. Remember, we almost blasted the earth entirely in half a few times over. Don't believe me? Research it for yourself, its documented. We even created cracks in the crust and sent seismic waves measured around the world.

In other words, its bunk technology. It needs to be abandoned.

Technology that puts lives in danger if used improperly... I guess we should abandon the wheel.
