So what's your plan

Actually these nuclear plants would be quite safe, if they were implemented intelligently. And by intelligently, I dont mean build a nuclear plant on the beach, and have its only means of back-up power that keeps the reactor from going critical being diesel powered generators
They still have to be ran by humans or machines at some point. That leaves too much room for error. I've lived 50 miles from the Trojan/Hanford plant and they were making mistakes on a regular basis. The reactors have to be cooled by water, so they must be built near a high abundance of cool water. This raises the water temperature and affects fish population. Every time they make a mistake and need to cool the reactors to prevent from spewing more toxic waste, they heat up the water even more. The Columbia river has risen at least 1-2 degrees under normal operation and who knows how much more when they F--- up.

BTW, I also worked for the chip manufactures like Intel, SEH-America and several other companies. All those reactors they use for growing the ingots are cooled by water. Every time some human or machine makes a mistake, the place nearly blows itself sky high like 3-mile island. Ever wonder why they build a bunker around sites like that? Its not to prevent prying eyes from the street. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Wake up. France is so far behind the US and the rest of the world. Yeah, lets take after them! Why don't we take 3 steps back?

Research Nikola Tesla. We already had "Free Power" WITHOUT power lines, wireless transmission. This was 100's of years ago. You can't charge a fee for something that is free. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif That's the whole reason we have utility companies, oil companies and every other resource we are charged for. If the government doesn't stand to make any money off the product, it gets shelved and hidden from public view. Electromagnetic brakes with no friction or wear parts? Already made in the 1940's. Ford can't sell brake shoes/pads if they don't exist on the car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Carburetors that get well above 60MPG? Already done almost 80 years ago by John R. Fish.

The reason we have everything the way it is today is because nobody chooses to use the technology that was already made 50 - 100's of years ago and forgotten about. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The cool part is History and Discovery channels are starting to cover this. Its just history repeating itself.

During the "Great Depression" (or Recession and they refer to ours) people were holding gold and silver.

The government made it illegal to hold gold and silver and tried to force people to turn it in. Why do you think this is? To take away anything that had true value and replace it with paper currency that has little to no value. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Why do you think the coins are not made of gold and silver anymore? Why are $50 gold pieces clad/plated and not solid? Why are they making the Euro and soon to be making the Amero? One world currency anyone....

Why do you see the commercials for the CSX high speed trains so much? To import goods that arrive from China to our ports and deliver it towards the center of our country faster. Eliminate the middle men...

I think you see where I'm going with this. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yeah thatll help. do you know how much more efficient nuclear power is than fossil fuel burning? and how much cleaner it is? and statistically safer? pretty darn close to 100% better in all aspects.

Nuclear power done properly, IS the way to go.

Gold and Silver, and LAND and commodities is where it's at right now.

Being prepared doesn't hurt ANYTHING, if nothing really bad happens to the US dollar, fine, not a problem to be converting your paper money to gold/silver/land/cattle, LONG BEFORE it actually happens to the US Dollar, B U T, if something does go wrong, as MANY wise financial people are advising that it IS definately going to happen, you will be SO GLAD you did something to protect your wealth, family, and property.

I was being sarcastic. I am full aware of how clean nuclear power is, the safety aspect is dependent on the governing bodies. In the US, the NRC does a very thorough job of auditing and monitoring nuclear sites.

Sounds like you get the point of this thread. Maybe some others will see the direction the country is heading.

Agreed about the Normalcy Bias....

Also I have a friend who services the diesel engines at our Nuclear plants all over the country, and another friend who services the Generators all over the place at major installations (for backup power, like hospitals, universities, refineries, etc) and YES, they all have very strict standards, ridiculous amounts of redudency, and noone is allowed in some of the places without Government issued security clearance.

To deal with the rising cost and decreasing supply of basic foods in the world? Crops such as wheat and corn have been greatly affected recently due to flooding and fire in various producing areas of the world. These are fairly common ingredients in most foods, so there WILL be negative results. Corn is 350% higher for a bushel than this time last year($2 vs. $7) FYI. I'm sure everyone already knew this though, right?
sounds like you are buying into the news station bs

candy was 1 cent a piece 30-40 years ago and now its $1...thats a HUGE jump

did people stop eating candy?

candy is a luxury , corn is more needed...people still eat candy

I ate snickers and M&Ms today, paid $2.15. I was pissed cuz 40 years ago it would of been 2 cents
