so what do you think, should i order now?

sundownz, are ur 100.2's underrated a litte, cause only turn off for me is the lack of power i gonna need for germs. Even though u say the 100.4 will be out in about 70 - 90 days i no stuff comes up. Will ur 100.2 put close to 125 - 150 actual power at 4 ohms? or is it closer to 100?
O and leon ur setup is sick (even though couldnt convince u to get hu) but after seeing the pic of ur car. i wet myself. Slc's are going to sound great. Same with Bm's. But infact ur setup is going to be similar to mine. I getting 2 12" Bm's, 1 1500D from sundownz, hopefully (crosses fingers) a 100.4 from sundownz, rainbow germaniums, and all of this wired by KnuKonceptz, and sound deadoned by Raammat Audio or Second Skin.
wow you have a better system!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i forgot to mention i was running the sundown 100.2 also. for the slc's

i would get the germaniums but d@#n their pricy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and i am also getting all my wiring from knukonceptz (great stuff)

and i like their cap but i'm not paying 50 bucks for cosmetics lol

finally i'm using about 120 sq ft of damplifier pro

80 sq ft of overkill pro

and about 40 sq ft of luxury liner

this should be quiet

and to make up for the weight, i'm doing a custom twin turbo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

but yeah, great system you got there, i hope you enjoy it:)

same to you, im about 1000 out of the 2500 i need. I will probably also be purchasing some overkill or ensolite closed cell foam stuff, and a viper 741xv alarm.

I plan to start my build after christmas, early january. Because it hard for 16 year olds to raise money. it has taken me 6 months to get the 1000 but i currently selling couple items in my other hobby paintball which should bring in about 700$ and then X-mas and Birthday will help of course.

Hope to see a nice work log in the general discussion, Let me know how those Bm's sound :)

cool, i respect the fact that you did this by yourself, i know how hard it is to raise money when your a kid //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and yeah i'm going t start my set up within 2007 because i have to take care of my car's performance first. It set me back about 25 grand so saving up again lol.

wow, i didn't know you could make so much off of paintball, interesting...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif jk

and yeah i'll post my progress as soon as i'm done:)

P.S by the way, what is this going into? What kind of car?

well it easy to make money in paintball, it just you have to be good :). Tournaments are popping up everywhere In FL and lucky for me since ive been playing Since i was around 10 and im still 16 im still able to play young gun tournys or rookie, which means it pretty much you pay the entrance fee, get team of good kis together go in and dominate tournaments, split up winnings when you sell and you make about 25% profit. It all planning :) just hope you win. But nah it also fun.

Well right now im driving a 94 Camry XLE, but it only has 80,000 miles, good condition and has been in family whole time. Just got repainted. Parents bought it for my bro as his first car, and now he sold it to me when he went to college 2 years ago, So i plan to drive it till im outa highschool.

good reliable car, good for you:)

yeah i was kidding about the paintball thing lol, i'm a bit too old for it (i'm only 28 but yeah...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif )

well good luck

28 plz... i play with 50+ year olds all the time and sometimes every now and them they still find a way to kick my A**. With age comes expierence.

Yes DLS is extremely nice and extremly sexy.

Sorry for the delay in response, I was working on a friend's car... we just installed a pair of SI BM 10" Subs, a Peerless Definition 6.5" Comp Set, and 2x Sundown SAX-100.2 amps to power it all wired through a Navone LOC to the factory head unit. On that note...

Yes, the SAX-100.2 is underrated. They are good for 125 per channel easy, so no worries //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Also, I don't expect issues with the SAX-100.4 getting here within 90 days -- I'm thinking it will actually be closer to 70 days. If you want to purchase an SAX-100.2 from one of my dealers in the event the shipment of SAX-100.4s is delayed for any reason to get your system going, I will sell you an SAX-100.4 direct at a discount when they do get here to recover anything you lose re-selling the SAX-100.2 you used in the meantime. So either way, we can do something to get you going!

Oh... and anyone thinking of running a pair of BMs (ported) with an SAX-100.2 -- it definatly is a good combination! It is quite a bit louder than my 12" Mag (sealed) with an SAZ-1500D on tap. More cone area and vented beats out triple the power any day. My friend was a little worried it wouldn't be loud enough, well, now he's worried his car is going to fall apart (base model Lancer). Good stuff!

So each 10" is only getting 200w? hmm...
Something like that... more like 250 watts actual output. The BMs are incredibly efficient in a vented box. They will most certainly take more power, but they will also most certainly throw down with little power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They have roughly 1.25 ft^3 each (2.5 ft^3 total, shared) with a tuning of right around 35 Hz with 28 in^2 of port area. I built the box for my friend out of 3/4" Birch Plywood with heavy bracing, sound deadened the port with some Peel & Seal (as the port was made from 1/2" MDF), and coated the box with fiberglass resin internally.

one question, would there be a big difference in giving the 12" bm's 750 rms each at 1 ohm (sundown 1500) compared to giving it 200 rms at 2 ohm (sundown 100)?

would it be very noticible? because i am a bit weary about using a 120 amp alternator to power a 1800 watt system

you'll be fine with a 120 amp alternator as long as you big three, have good connections. Maybe second battery but i dont no.

I love u and ur service sundownz

Also i will be your personal referal person when you are unavailable :) and people ask for amp suggestions

There is no question that the BMs can be louder with more power, but when you put them in a vented box 200 watts or so will really hit hard. I would say you would probably gain 4 - 5 dB or so with the extra power -- so ask yourself if you really need that much more SPL. Also, the final load on the SAX-100.2 with two BMs is 4 ohms bridged -- each driver is wired in series for 8 ohms per driver, then wired in parallel for a 4 ohm final load.

Simon's car, the aforementioned friend, has a totally stock charging system in his Lancer and a single 4 AWG power wire to a dist block and he has no electrical issues at all. I think most people really overestimate what they need as far as power goes, especially when you go ported //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
