so what do you think, should i order now?

Personally I would get a head unit too. For as much as you will pay for a 360 or the JL cleansweep you could get a sweet *** deck. Why are you so hard headed for not getting an aftermarket head unit? When done right, they look better than factory and will sound better.

The sounding better part is not entirely true. My stock BMW head unit with Rockford 3Sixty.2 sounds better than any HU I've ever owned... easily makes short work of the Alpine 9815 I ran in my old car. It also has a feature set comparable any HU in it's price range, barring e-bay prices, as you can buy the 3Sixty.2 authorized for $600 at Sound Domain.

As I stated in my review the crossovers, EQ, time alignment, and source unit equalizer are EXCELLENT. Well worth the money, and perfect for those with a difficult to remove factory HU.

Show me a deck and custom install that looks better for $500 that can replace this...

ok so anyway, another update, since the guy that was doing my custom turbo was a jerk about the prices, i called my friend from out of town and he agreed to come aand do the set up for me for about 75% off the first labor quote. so i got more money for the car:D, anyways, i was looking around and Lukas from Audiojunkies.com (great guy, really easy to talk to) gave me a killer deal on a set up consisting of

soundown audio amps, both the 1500 rms mono and the 100 rms x 2 amp

(2) stereo integrity bm 12"

rainbow audio slc 265

what do you think?

would this rattle my car to death?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

anywayshow are sundown amps? and are the bm's similar to the mags in sq?

are sundown amps better than jbl power series interms of quality and sq?

anywayshow are sundown amps?
The SAZ-1200D (aka '1500D) that we messed around with was built extremely well. I'd have no qualms about their reliability.

and are the bm's similar to the mags in sq?
From what I hear, yes, although I can tell you for sure in a few weeks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The Crown-built JBL's? Don't think you could go wrong with either...

Sundown amps are new so not that many people are using them. Do a search for them in this forum and there's an install with a few of the 1500's + 100.2 and eight 12" BM's.

BM's are supposed to sound as good as the Mags but with less output.

The BMs sound GREAT. No worries there. They sound ALOT like a smaller Mag with a hair less on the very bottom and a *wee* bit more punch to them. You won't be dissapointed at all -- I've heard the Mags in all generations and sizes as well as the BMs in both sizes, so I can say that for sure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'll throw it out there again on the Rockford 3Sixty.2 unit. It is fantastic. Nick, the owner of SI, has sat in my car and can confirm this for you. My staging is as good as my old car with kick panels using factory install areas (time alignment and level adjustments)... and the EQ features kick tail... not to mention the fact that the LOC in the unit is world class, it literally sounds like the best aftermarket deck I've ever heard.

thanks sundownz, well my friend, who has your mono amp came and showed me his mag set up and let me just say it is beautiful:eek: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/inlove.gif.6846f78f06b405429ef3a00129788a2a.gif

the finish looks so smooth and the sound is so detailed and get so low. i could barely brath and my chest hurt afterwards lol I'm looking forward to my purchase

also i know you have some experience with the bm's so i'll ask you, due to space issues, i am making two fiberglass enclosures one the sides of the trunk, would it make a huge difference if it was a 1.3^3 compared to a 1^3 sealed enclosure?

P.S yeah and i am going with the 3sixty.2 setup because of the time alignment feature and the 150

1.3 ft^3 vs. 1 ft^3 would be a very slim difference. Simply stuff the 1 ft^2 box with 1 pound or so of polyfill and you won't notice at all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Glad you are all decided! I look forward to hearing how it turns out!

wondering because im trying to save up for some of those--meanwhile waiting on my mags //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thanks for asking, well if you want to know the price for the slc's (i'm guessing you want the 265 comps) then either pm 6spdcoupe (great guy from what i hear)on this forum or go to audiojukies.com, Lukas is a great guy too and is very knowlegeble about everything he carries. I personally am going with Audiojunkies because they had everything i wanted and gave me a good deal.

I'm only replacing my front stage and maybe running stock speakers in the back off of the headunit (depends on what i like) I am placing the woofer in the original position and putting the tweets in either the door or by my feet (not pods but that plastic trim piece because i have a stick shift and stick shift + kickpod = damage to speakers and uncomfortable clutch movement.

also don't buy anything for rear stage, if you must have it use the stock ones because personally i can't tell the difference between my stock ones and my friend's cdt midbass. (just my 2 cents)

the rainboes are worth every penny and more, i heard one last weekend and i gotta say, they are better than most out there, including some of the higher focal speakers imo.

anyways, good luck with your car and enjoy the mags:)

yea my stock rear stages actually hit pretty nice--rattles all of my mirrors beyond point of use---but yea i also heard that replacing 6x9's isnt very important.

thanks im going to contact audiojunkies

sundownz, are ur 100.2's underrated a litte, cause only turn off for me is the lack of power i gonna need for germs. Even though u say the 100.4 will be out in about 70 - 90 days i no stuff comes up. Will ur 100.2 put close to 125 - 150 actual power at 4 ohms? or is it closer to 100?

O and leon ur setup is sick (even though couldnt convince u to get hu) but after seeing the pic of ur car. i wet myself. Slc's are going to sound great. Same with Bm's. But infact ur setup is going to be similar to mine. I getting 2 12" Bm's, 1 1500D from sundownz, hopefully (crosses fingers) a 100.4 from sundownz, rainbow germaniums, and all of this wired by KnuKonceptz, and sound deadoned by Raammat Audio or Second Skin.
