so what do you think, should i order now?

Drop the cap and I say you're good to go...I'd still get a nice hu though
i know what your saying but i really would like the whole system integrated so i don't lose the steering wheel controls and such, also as i mentioned before, it really ugly and hard to replace my dash so i don't want that....

also i' ve been thinking maybe i should drop the amp after all, because i doubt i can personally hear any difference between a good quality orion for 200 from a 400 audison amp so what are good sub amps around 1000 rms for a good price?

If you were planning to get a $420 amp and $260 sub then I would find a used Stereo Integrity Mag D2 and an amp that puts around 800W or more. Speakers should be more of a priority than amps IMO.

lesson learned, so what amp would you suggest?

the cleansweep is lame. you can't use the volume on your HU, and i am not even sure if they have sub outputs. you should check on that. but the whole having a separate volume knob is what turned me off of it.

soccrtp17[/color]]Actually yes, I just put one in today in a 04' Mazda 6.

Cleansweep is basically a $399 (MSRP) Line out converter. But let me tell you it is well worth it. The only thing I was dissapointed in is that it did not have a designated sub output. You can still run subs using it, but it isn't sub output. It's fairly simple to install...no tricks required. You'll run your speaker wire (we used Best Kits BHSW91 speed wire with 4 pair of speaker wire and an additional turn on lead) from your head unit to Cleansweep. It has a factory speaker wire connector where you'll hook into. From there you run your RCAs to your aftermarket amps and then its just like setting up a normal system. The aux feature is pretty cool too...Cleansweep comes with a gain knob that you'll need to use if you plan on using the aux feature. You press down on the gain knob and the aux feature then turns on. It isn't big at all and it greatly improves the sound over a standard line out converter. It has a calibration disc, but basically all you do is put it in your cd player and that's it. You can find more info on it at www.jlaudio.com . Feel free to ask more specific questions. This is the first one I've installed so far, so my knowledge is limited on it.

Well you'd probably want something that looks good...

DLS A7? There was some for sale for around $400 not too long ago. I dont know how much they sell for new with warranty. It's a 5 channel so you put that money you were going to spend for the 4 channel + sub so it comes out at the same price. Power rating is a little on the low side but //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif.

I have a for sale Phoenix Gold x600.1 but it has a large footprint. I just got a Memphis Belle 5 channel and although it's long, it is very compact because it is a tad under 7" wide. Does 75w a channel + up to 1100w on the sub channel.

yeah maybe i should just get a belle and call it a day, wiring would be cheaper not to mention other things....

you know where i can get one cheap? i know sonic sells them for $650

ok, change of plans... so heres the deal... due to my having to pay for unforseen performance mod fees, i'm changing my shopping list to the following

3sixty.2 $450

rainbow slc 6.5 somps $240

jbl px 300.4 (123 rms x 2 + 358 rms x1 bridged at 4 ohm) $ 222

a subwoofer that is single 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm that can handle 358 rms that is under $250 a piece

what can you suggest for a sub (sql, mostly sq, good low end)

i'm looking at the idq, tc 1000, assassin, type r.... what do you suggest?

( i don't two subs because of fiberglassing costs...)

PLZ, get a hu, it not hard to install and if you have someone do it since u dont feel comfortable who is knowledgable, it looks good. Fi Q is great choice. Amps i would look into sundown audio, audiojunkies.com caries them. But seems little pricey for you. Also look into diamond amps, memphis amps, and zed audio amps. All are great.

it's not that i can't install one, but it's expensive and ugly to install one, besides the navi is dead center so kinda hard to install.

You don't need a new HU. Get a Rockford 3Sixty.2 processor... best thing since sliced bread for car audio. I got one attached to my factory HU and I'll NEVER look at aftermarket HUs again... if I want some other kind of input (satellite, MP3, etc) it has an AUX input too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Oh yah, I hear those Sundown amps are nice too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
