Slightly Perplexing Sub Choice

Well i have been sitting very patiently while awaiting Audioque's new HDC3's to come out, and at the same time i have been bass free since i blew one of my SX's.. Now I have never been a big DD fanatic but I know a DD dealer that is local and is offering me some good prices.. I already ordered a set of 1512's for a friend and soon to upgrade my girls 3 fubar 10's to 2 1510's.. so this got me thinking.. I want a single sub setup that will take the 2000watts I have on hand and will get **** loud! so I want a 15 or 18 that will kill the lows and hit mid 140's at least.. I can get 5cuft in my trunk... so which to get

1) DD 3515

1) DD 9512G

Wait and get one HDC3 18"

Im really trying to shy away from the 1500series and 2500 series since I know people running them...and plan to compete in comps against em.. most local comps go by car/truck/suv and inches 0-20 21-29 30-up

I saw 1 DD 1508 do 153db in the port (i did 147db in port w/ 2 sx12s)

and one DD 2510 do 143 Legal on 1500 watts ( i did 137.7db legal w/ SX12s)

I wanna kill with the AQ, but the wait is pestering me, and i have a good guy local with some nice deals

I am contemplating (4) 1510s or 1512s.. maybe (1) 3518 or (1) 9512G..maybe wait.. hell I cant decide.. Looking for major SPL output and at least a tolerable bit of SQ, Hence my 15series decisions, but i hear the 35's are beasts

there is a thread on the soundpressure forum where a 2515 was ran on a z1 just fine.

that may make it more economical for you...

the z1 is a bit much but i would put 1200 RMS for music on a 2500 all day as long as clipping is kept minimal... i would do a 3518 they run about 450 and will stomp the AQ HD 18...

aq's can take more power than 3500's....

and last I checked the hd3's were more comparable to 9500's

my boy has an HD3:naughty:... the new 3500s have a higher xmax, better b/l/mass ratio, and will have near the power-handling the current g has.... all in all the 3500 will be a better daily driver... sound better too... the 9500Gs BLOW the AQs out the water..

Yeah My DD dealer reccomended the 3518 for to me.. and called it a "Monster on 2000watts.. I just noticed the 1512's were svc 4ohm and if I want (4) i needs me a 1ohm amp.. and the 3518 is Very close to the New HDC3 price.. but in the back of my mind I have this superiority complex that makes me want the 9512G (its not much more than the 3518 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

I am not gonna argue with you.

if you want to think that. go for it.

ask some competitors on here... they would probabl say its a toss up with the hd3 and the 9500... the 9500 motor has better cooling... the hd3 has stiffer spiders.

Having a friend who has a certain speaker doesn't mean a whole lot. experience does.

while the 3500 may have better sq. that is in the eye of the beholder and depends on the box as well obviously.
