ok i originally attempted to post this sub (07 re xxx 18") for sale, but the thing is these newer xxx's retail for 2150, i paid 1300, and people are offering me $400, $500 when i asked for $800 minimum if not 1000.
seems like i'm attempting to sell to the wrong "crowd" if you will, from what i hear.
ANYWAY, i planned on doing 2 15"s in my new car (hopefully a 04-06 trailblazer) but due to my xxx 18 not selling, i need to maximize the use out of it.
right now it's in a 6 cube custom box @ 35hz. it definately booms, but it seems as if it just not going too too deep. the real low notes are barely audible let alone maximized on..
RE recommends 9 cubes @ 34hz ported for this sub.
i was wondering how about something along the lines of 9 cubes, @ 30-32hz? how would that sound if i fed it 3,000 watts?
also, what amperage draw would 3,000 watts **** - or what size alternator would be sufficient to run a 3,000w+ amp?
also, how would i go about replacing the loss mid-bass/higher bass notes? i know you cant run like 12s or 10s with an 18, but as most of you know in most songs theres a lot lost as far as bass goes if you only have 1 18.
i know replace factory speakers and throw an amp on them, but is it possible to maybe put small 8s or 10s in somewhere to take care of the punchy bass? or should i just stick to really high-end stock component replacements and amp em?
