Should one 10" be enough!!

Im a newbie at this stuff and I dont want to go all out or anything I just wanted some more bass for my system and was wanting to know if one 10" sub is enough to really get my system enough that I want.... I dont listen to much rap or R&B as I do rock music.... I love the rock music!! I have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport... And I know I can get a custom fit enclosure to fit in my rear passenger side thingy.... But the biggest size it can hold is a 10".... will be it enough!!? Or should I just do the normal enclosure box that can hold 2 10's

you can have 1 nice ten that can be as loud as 3 sucky 10's... it's up to you.

From the average listener, they complain that my 1 15" in a 6cu ft enclosure is too much bass and drowns out the music in certain songs. I think a 10" would be a good fill for the bass you are looking, but you need a good 10." Look at Image Dynamics, Alpine Type R, or possibly an Eclipse sub. Or you will probably get this from 50 other members here, but you can always go with internet brands like Resonant Engineering, Ascendant Audio, or Soundsplinter. Whatever you choose, go with a nice sealed enclosure and any of the companies above produce great woofers with nice sound quality. It definitely won't be able to be heard outside of the car which is a good thing(to most people) Get a sub with that can handle alot of power, but is really efficient with the wattage. My 15" Atlas is taking 300 watts and pounds like crazy, making it really efficient, yet it can handle alot more and I've never experienced it bottoming out.

a decent 10" sub in the right box will satisfy allot of listeners. i like spl but not on my daily driver which i had a 10" Rockford Fosgate " not the p series" and it sounded good, by that i mean good SQ and at least 120dbs of spl not sure may be more or maybe less my ears cant measure spl, but it got loud, I'm waiting for my new 10" to arrive cus i liked the sound they put out so much i bought another one.

It definitely won't be able to be heard outside of the car...

Do you smoke rocks? I've seen factory 6.5"s that can be heard from outside of the vehicle, at 30 feet away! Don't tell me a quality 10 can't be heard from outside...
