Should I worry about electrical/altenator problems.

Hello, I am new to all of this, and have been trolling the forums for info and advice.

I had a question reguarding my new planned install.

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Diamante.

I'm looking to get a 400 watt 4 channel amp and a 250 watt mono amplifier.

Should I be confident that this will run properly off of my stock electrical system, or should I be wary of dead batteries, broken altenators, etc?

Thanks very much.

So I am definately pushing the line with my stock electrical system?

Would a capacitor help, or is it simply a band-aid for the issue since it is another thing for my system to have to charge up.

get a battery....cheaper and will actually HELP the problem...

Holy cow, you're trying to solve a problem you don't have. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

With those amps your stock system should be fine if it's in good shape.
650 watts isn't that much stress on the electrical system, I'd leave it alone unless you have trouble later.

If you do have problems, no cap or battery will solve it - you'll need to up the alternator.

know tons of people with big alts that still dim without a good battery or extra batteries...slowest thing in an electrical system when its not up to load yet is an alt as there isnt any auto rpm or instant voltage regulators out

I'm ticking everyone off tonite! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

W/o the better alt the battery can't make up for a deficit for extended periods. Gotta have the juice coming in, ya know.

You're right, having a quality battery should be part of the plan of upgrading the electrical system tho. So should the big three.
