Should I upgrade? opinions plz

Well, as some know, I have 6 xxx 15's powered with three sound stream tarantulas. I was thinking, with the new price at 850/per amp I could get three more and have a total of 6 tarantulas. Right now each sub sees around 1k watts whereas it would see 2k upgraded. My electrical system can def handle it (2 300 amp alts and 7 optimas) but will it be worth it?

So basically, you'd be doubling your power which theoretically would get you 3db. But factory in power compression and such....and frankly I think you'd be wastin' your money. You'd be spending $2500+ to get an increase of [best case scenario] 3db. If you were competing hardcore, then it may be worth it. If this is just an insane daily driver w/ occasional competing just for fun, I wouldn't bother because the increase would likely be "somewhat noticeable" at best.

If this was a comp only setup, I don't think he would have tuned it to 27hz

believe me if you want, personally it doesn't bother me. It is a DD setup by no I don't listen to it loud everyday. I was just wondering on the amps, as..... they are much cheaper then when I originally bought them at 1,600/piece
