Should I match my inline fuse to amp fuse?

Ok.
Any explanation? I'm just trying to understand. Because in the manual they do refer to use 50A for inline power fuse.
You fuse for the wire, not the amp.

OFC 4 gauge can carry 150-200 amps

If you put a 50amp fuse on that wire it will pop within a minute.

That would not be a good.

Yeah true I totally understand that. But if the amp is fused 50a doesn't that mean the amp won't pull over 50a? Or it's not related and it's for another purpose?

fuse for the wire ampacity, 120a is about what it should be. the reason is so you dont have unnecessary voltage drop across the fuse for the wire. the by the book reason is that the fuse for the wire is protecting the wire, while the internal amp fuse is protecting the amp. if your amp doesnt come with internal fusing then you can fuse the wire for the amps rating and not the wires rating

Hello
My amp has bult in 2 25A fuses. The 4 gauge wiring kit I'm looking to buy comes with a 120A fuse. Should I buy a 50A fuse and replace the 120A one?

Thanks!
i've always had 80a inlines but don't go smaller 80-150 is great for 4ga.. amp fuse is for how much power it draws, power wire gets more than that..
