Big Three Install???

I've seen some say to just leave the stock wires and run the Big 3 along with them, but I've also read and seen videos where they completely remove the old and replace them. Is this preference or is it better to leave the old an run new too (lil more difficult, but seem like it would be more efficient doubling rather than replacing). Also is it ok to just run my 2 grounds along the old ones and mount them in the same spot with the original? I plan on giving them new spots of their own, but I rather just run them with the original for now if it doesn't really make a difference.

Thanks in advance!!

Do not remove the factory wiring.
Ok seems like a better idea anyway. Do you think one of the three strut/shock tower bolts is good for a frame ground and a transmission bolt good for a motor ground? Or for the chassis ground there's 3 bolts that hold the battery Trey mount up that go through the frame would siding the ground in between them n putting the bolt through work better for a chassis ground

I have replaced the old wiring with bigger one. Esp the small wire from alt to battery. It makes no difference weather the original wiring is kept or discarded.

Do not remove the factory wiring.
Could you explain?
Its all preference.
Unless you have a more computerized vehicle then it should be no issue replacing.

But at the same time adding on would add more capacity for current flow, but if the wires are old and bad you might as well replace.

Figured so. The original wiring in my Tahoe is 2 gauge, replaced with 1/0. Try fitting both into a little hole lol

For a 93 the wires seem to be in pretty good condition. There is nothing bigger than 8g coming off the battery 2 8gs and a 10g off each terminal. Is it ok to put my 2/0g to the same spots at the original grounds or should I use the other 2 spots I asked about? (Transmission to motor bolt and in between battery tray bracket to frame with a bolt through it? And the and thanks

Factory grounds are usually chosen for best ground properties.
But if you check the resistance on those two places you specified and find them near or better then oem spots then use them.

Just make sure you upgrade the engine to frame ground tho as thats the main ground point for everything.

The only wire going from the motor to frame was a tiny flat strand braided steel cable. I had took it out when I did the timing belt n water pump because it was half tore anyway. But the spots I choose were .1 ohm so that's like almost 0 resistance I believe

But so what your saying is to basically make a triangle with the grounds, from battery to the motor n to the frame, and one from the motor to the frame? All I was able to do last night before it got too dark was put a battery ground to the frame and that alone improved my headlights brightness a bunch.

Also I'm gonna have to either find a way to extend and change the angle of my alt power bolt or cut the lil plastic shield that makes it inset... Either way I was hoping to have it all build nd hooked up by Sunday night but it may take a bit longer.

Also coating everything in dielectric grease.

You only need one motor to frame ground.

Right now your headlights improved because every electrical device in your vehicle is using the battery as a ground.

Everything that has to do with ground is all ran to the vehicle harness, its always better to ground the motor out completely so a ground loop doesnt occur.

Ok, I get what your saying. I got all that done... Hooking that bug wire to that lil 1/4 copper studd was a huge pain cuz it was inset inside a plastic she'll type thing I just left the guide the stock goes through up from under and cut the round part just enough to slip that 2/0 lug on it and that way the lug is protected from trying to ground on anything either... I did my motor from a transmission/motor bolt to the the motor mount... Using dielectric on everything lol... Well gonna go finish up the lil bit of zip ties for now and start getting my box cut out... Thanks Los33 I appreciate it

Idk wtf is wrong with the clamp tester but with brights on, ac/heater blower going, system cranked (300w one), interior lights, hazards going my alt n motor don't seem to even drag like when your getting a jump and you hook cables up to someone's ride how you can hear it load down. And uh this clamp is only reading 1.8-3.2 amp... Same with the wire going to the system... Am I suppose to plug in the ground n power wire n connect them the battery also?

Also I have some spare ofc 4gage n 8gage laying around... Should I ground the alt to the firewall as extra ground for it?

You would have to take a video or word that better for us to understand what u mean.

The more grounds the better overall.
