Should I do it?

Well mustangs definitely **** when it comes to build quality or luxury, but it sure is fun to take corners sideways with them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I love m3s btw, another cheapish but very good all around car to build. I'm gunna watch that vid when I get home.
mustangs are horrible on corners.. the new ones might be a little better but those are straight line cars... M3s are NOT cheap..

come to find out people around here are charging OUTRAGEOUS prices to do the LS1 swap. SOOOOOOOOO I decided to get the Firebird and do a Firebird LT1 build. I wanted to do a Camaro build, but it is not worth 4-5k and I have been listening to the replies from everyone so yes, I will do the firebird with the LT1 motor and just rebuild it and mod it out. When I looked at it this Firebird Formula comes with dual exhaust, posi rearend, and the stock LT1 accessories. So IMO as a trade for that old Crappy black Camaro I came out on top.

So this is my NEW project

I dont know if u have already gotten the LT1 engine and stuff to go with it but i would suggest going for an LS1.

I have owned a 96 firebird formula with the LT1 engine. while the engine's performance is nice to have for a daily driver, 320ish torque is lots of fun and the low end torque is what makes it really fun.

However if u do go with the LT1 make sure u really get a good distributor because theyre known to **** and go out. mine had 122k miles and it had to be replaced, just looking to try and help u out with not having to go all the way down to the distributor, it sucks. supposedly MSD makes a good distributor but idk i got rid of mine shortly after changing the distributor.

not to mention changing plugs is terrible. LS1 has coil packs!

Thanks man I will look into that I finally got a comment worth replying to. lol

Get it up and running and then maybe modding it down the road.

WELL come to find out the guy that traded me for his firebird, may have had it wrong. He told me that the motor was blown and I had a mechanic check it out and he thought other wise. The firebird has all of the fluids, so the motor is not cracked. The pulleys turn, so the motor is not locked and there is not milky residue in the oil. When I turned the key there is a loud grinding sound. Thus the solution may be a new starter/flywheel. If so I just paid 650 for a running, good looking firebird. IF it ends up being the motor I found one for $600 and I will just buy the motor and have it installed. (Hopefully it is the starter)
