currently have bxi1606d..not the beat sq..but it does the job.....SHOULD I SWAP OUT TO AN AQ 1200 OR A SAE 1000D?? ive installed and heard a saz1500d in my buddies car..that was an awesome amp..never heard nor seen an aq1200 or a sae1000d...so do i swap out?

now dont quote me on this but i heard that the hifonics and the AQ boards are very similar. so if i were you i wouldnt waiste my money to go with an AQ if you already have a hifonics. dont get me wrong its a good amp but whats the point? and i know the sundowns are better than the hifonics. i mean i guess its really up to you. if you have the money to do it then go for it. imo its not worth it.

how many watts is the hifonics? The saz-1500d is 1500 x 1 at 1 ohm and thats at 12.8 volts. I am sure the hifonics ratings are at 14.4 volts which is not true power. I have a sundown 1500d and had it on 1 FI BL 12" fully loaded and it pounded. Now i am getting another 1500d to run on 2 BL 18's. And the service thru sundown is awesome too.

where'd you hear this? I'm curious. The buildhouses in Korea do use similar boards though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

The boards are not the same, but they are pretty similar. The hifonics has less caps on the power supply side, but they are a bit larger than the caps on the AQ. The AQ has a few caps in the middle of the board that the hifonics doesn't have. Remember the brutus is rated 14.4, so on the average joe's electrical we could be talking a 200-400 watts difference between the two amps. Other than that, the processing circuitry, power terminals, transistor setup, the jumper wires and the center of the board are very similar(minus the caps)

To me it seems like the aq is just a little beefier brutus. Also, there were changes made in the new 08 brutus amps. I believe I read on the maxxsonics forum that hey added a few caps. They also have te older brutus 2200 on ampguts, but i cant get it to work for me right now, curious to see if its more similar to the AQ.

No.

I've owned the SAZ 1500D's...and lets just say..for a 1500 watt monoblock @ 1 ohm..it's tough to beat.

I and a friend just recently installed a pair of AQ 1200D's in his Pathfinder on 2 15" AQ SDC2.5's and the output suprised me. For a small amplifier, they pack a punch.

I havent heard an SAE 1000D Sundown yet, but I hear they are awesome.

My opinion...The AQ 1200D..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

The boards can be identical in term's of how it's laid out but what make's the difference is the components the company uses on the boards. They may look similar but I'd bet AQ uses a little better components inside the amp's then Hifonic's does.

Doesn't look like your bxi2008d but looks very much like my bxi2608d:

I'm not saying they are the same though. Who has guts of a 1200d? Let's see if it looks like the bxi1608d:D.
