my original plan was to run 4 sundown 8s in my tC.

but, i talked to my installer today and he measured and said that with the airspace i have, it will be right at minimum for the subs and they may not flex/have the excursion the way i want them to. Now if i run 3 i will have more than enough space and the subs will perform better.

So my question is...should i cut it back to 3 subs? or would the 4 subs still out do the 3 even with less airspace?

was gonna run a kicker zx1500.1 at 2 ohms since my subs are dual ohm subs.

Im pretty sure youll be happy with 3 on 1500, its usually better to have fewer subs in optimal conditions than to have more subs being strangled, imo

and 1500 isnt really enough power for 4...

but, if i run 3 they wont be getting full 1500 rms. they'll be gettin about 1200-1300 due to running at higher ohms then.

unless i can find a amp to push 3 dual 4 ohms sundown 8s

I'd get a single 15... find one that takes about 1k rms, feed it 1500, it will take up around the same air space...

already bought the 8's and wanna stick with some 8s.

I bet if you mounted those 4 8's inverted you'd have enough airspace...

your trunk must be miniature to not be able to fit 5 cubes

its not horribly small (scion tC) but gotta keep it a lil smaller to keep from hitting the hatch and plus im tryna tune to 32hz

give me max dims, I bet you I can fit four 8's and still tune to 32hz, non inverted.

the dims my installer figured were

39.5 wide

9.5 high

16.5 deep (height kept down to keep under cargo cover , and not scrub hatch.

honestly, once you stick a port in there, you really only have room for two 8's
