Doesn't Dell have the T9000 processors out now?

You can probably wait for one of the deals they run on XPS's and get a better system for around the same price. They're always running deals on either the Inspiron's or the XPS's for a good amount off (got $350 off my Inspiron).

That looks like a good laptop, regardless- I have the same processor and video card on my Inspiron 1420 and love it thus far.

You should just do what I do with the RAM, stick with the 1gig from Dell and just pick up 4gigs from Newegg or the likes- saved me a bunch of money doing it that way. Dell charges a lot for ram.

that seems kind of high for what they give you. My laptop has almost the EXACT same stats, besides the 3 gigs of ram(I have two) but everything else is pretty much close and I only paid 900 dollars.
=/
what is it that you have for a laptop? acer/hp/asus?

so 160gb hd, 256mb graphics card and intel core 2 duo t8300(2.4ghz)? its 1338shipped

i just want a **** deal on it before i buy it..sheet.

Last summer I spent a ton of time researching laptops and I would say you can do much better.

Look into the Dell M-Series. They are made of metal parts and are much better laptops than the cheap, mostly plastic XPS and Inspiron series. Ebay has killer deals on them sometimes. Over a year ago I got mine for $1300 shipped similarly equipped and it came with a Nvidia Quattro 2500FX - a beast of a laptop graphics card. This thing seriously plays almost any game you throw at it full tilt. Not to mention all Dell M-Series laptops come with a 3 year accidental coverage warranty, and I'm willing to bet they're even cheaper now.

Granted my M90 is also a 17" laptop. Not sure if you want something that big - most 15" laptops don't hold a good graphics card.

notebookforums.com - its the CA of laptops. They also have a "coupons" section on the main page that gives you promotional coupons from all sorts of manufacturers, including dell.

PM me if you need any more help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Whatever you buy now, within a year, there will be better stuff. If you're trying to wait, you're going to be waiting forever.

Unless you're doing serious graphics stuff, any laptop would serve you fine these days.

what exactly you plan on doing with the laptop (besides **** of course). With the video sharing memory and the measly 5400rpm hard drive I myself would pass. This sounds like a laptop you can get for around $600. So it has a barrel hing and slot optical, not worth the extra dough. For that kinda money start looking for quad core or at least dedicated graphics and 7200rpm drive.

I'd like to see you find a laptop with a quad core processor for $1,200.

Intel recently announced they're releasing their first quad-core laptop processor...that will retail for over $1000 on it's own...so good luck with that one.
