you took that too literal.
Are you trying to say that being under the influence of drugs (we're not even talking about any specific drug) will not cause a person to more likely display behaviors that might not be socially accept, even illegal or criminal?

Drugs are always readily available and reasonably priced, which is why I didn't need to address that. $20 is much is it? You could barely get some decent speakers for $20, but it can sure get you some crack.
Being under the influence of Metallica or Rage Against the Machine tends to influence me in negatively social ways... should those bands be illegal then too?
Now you are arguing drugs are already cheap and easy to get. So if they re so cheap and easy to get, why do all those people commit crimes in order to maintain their habit? Just because the drug itself turns them into evil anti-Americans?

Lastly, you can say drugs are cheap and readily available now, but you cannot argue they would not necessary be cheaper, and definitely easier to get, were they legal.

And its your inability or lck of desire to dig into such questions that allows you to be suckered into believing drugs are inherantly evil by your own government.
Think for yourself, stop assuming the answers you've been told your whole life. gin I ask, what drug gives you the sensation to break the law? None. That only means means to acquire the drug. Legalization would remove much of that burden.

Your attitude that drugs 'make' you commit crimes actually implies you re the one who lacks experience with this topic. Or should I be asking you how many convenience stores you knocked off during your drug experimentation?
what's with all this assumption about what i believe is due to government? I thought you were better than that.

The means to acquire the drug(s): I don't see how legalization would remove that burden. Legal or not, those drugs will still cost money. Don't have a job? Don't have money? well, that convenient store does. That's convenient.

I'm on drugs... I'm pumped up/wired whatever, I think i should go rob that place, **** it, let's do it... wait.. it's legal now, that convenient store sells that drug. Wait again, i still don't have money. Should I rob it for money or the drugs? I don't know, i'm confused like so: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Maybe i'll just rob them for both. If I get caught, i can always plead temporary insanity, since i'm on drugs and all.

Drugs 'can make you do stupid shit'. First off, drugs dont make you do anything. If they did, why is alcohol legal? Is it special? Explain how, specifically. Drugs remove inhibitions. Again you show signs of the propaganda you've eaten up since childhood.
Alcohol

Not saying i've taken either to the extreme but if I had I would know that its much easier to lose complete touch with reality, what is legal, and what is moral with the shrooms/acid //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Not all drugs are equal

So if someone robs a bank to buy a car, should Corvettes be illegal? How about if they rob that convenience store to buy wine? Alcohol mkes you unable to work while under its influence, is addictive, and costs money. How does that fit into your plan?

No, not all drugs are equal, I agree. And Im not arguing all drugs should be legal. Im arguing the debate needs to go deeper than 'drugs are illegal and turn people into evil zombies'.

not all people are equal either. One drug can have different affects on two different people.

do enough acid and it probably will.

too bad you can't be labeled as temporarily insane when you're driving a corvette or a hummer;)

Alcohol should be illegal too. If you can't even drive "under the influence," then it's probably a bad influence.

bad influences are bad mmmkay.

Do you think higher of these countries? Would you much rather live there?
In some ways I do and in some cases I would rather live there, and I have lived in several of those countries.

I am definitely proud to be from here and like living here and love many things about this country. On the other hand there are things about the U.S. that i am very ashamed of and reflects very poorly on me as an American abroad. And right now with the average standard of living for the average American being so much lower than that of average citizens in the fore mentioned countries living there may be much more ideal for many people.

some people (americans) naively assume that the u.s is the "best and only" place to live in the world. I think a lot of this is just nationalistic rhetoric. granted the u.s. is one of the FEW GREAT countries in the world to live but not necessarily the best in all cases, and things like the hdi and democracy index quantitatively show this. those that have traveled extensively know this.
