Should drugs be legalized!?

Well I'm in this politics class here at my college and my teacher feels that drugs should be Legal, 100%. He is talking about crack, cocaine, and Marijuana.

What are your opinions and post why you think it should or should not be!

Has your teacher seen what crack can do. Much, much more worse than cocaine. Why on earth would someone want to legalize that?

Sure why not. The taxes the goverment could charge would pay our national debt off fast!!! LOL!!! I think the only drug that should ever be legalized if something like that were to transpire is Pot. I would hate to see a bunch of tweekers running around smoking their crack pipes like they were going on fvcking cig breaks!! LOL!!!!!

My teachers claim is this:

Drugs should be legal so we can tax them. By taxing them we could make a potential billions of dollars every year. Right now we have 2.5 million people in prisons on drug related offenses. This is more then any other country has, period. It costs an average of $35,000 a year to hold someone in a jail cell. By taxing drugs we could use the tax money to open TONS of rehad clinics to help the people that it effects and then pay doctors and staff, etc. This will also help us make more money as we won't be paying tons of dollars to keep people in jail and there would also be WAY more crime. There won't be as many gang wars over territory and so forth. Then this whole thing with Mexico would vanish in a day he says.

What do you think of that?

I think it should... But hell im the kinda guy that also thinks warning labels should be taken off everything... The government should not reward stupidity.. let the people dumb enough to do it, do it and get the **** out of here..

that is true because the government could mass produce it cheaper and better potency... no more smuggling

Build a wall across the entire border and put the military on it and the whole Mexico drug situation would dramatically decrease. All without having to tell Americans its ok to be a bunch of pot smokin hippies or dicksuckers for crack/meth/etc

See I don't believe that at all. I don't think the government would be able to touch the pricing that the drug cartels would lower it too. I think we would just buy directly from them.
