See I don't believe that at all. I don't think the government would be able to touch the pricing that the drug cartels would lower it too. I think we would just buy directly from them.
the government has much more potent ish.. and would be able to produce much more faster better cheaper

My teachers claim is this:
Drugs should be legal so we can tax them. By taxing them we could make a potential billions of dollars every year. Right now we have 2.5 million people in prisons on drug related offenses. This is more then any other country has, period. It costs an average of $35,000 a year to hold someone in a jail cell. By taxing drugs we could use the tax money to open TONS of rehad clinics to help the people that it effects and then pay doctors and staff, etc. This will also help us make more money as we won't be paying tons of dollars to keep people in jail and there would also be WAY more crime. There won't be as many gang wars over territory and so forth. Then this whole thing with Mexico would vanish in a day he says.

What do you think of that?
The government already controls drugs through the pharmaceutical giants. As in prescription drugs. Rather than curing a patient with a medication, they would rather keep a revenue stream going by giving patients something that only provides temporary results. They are basically pimps. So as far as giving the government even more control, I would have to disagree. There are good arguments for both sides, but I say keep them illegal for moral and ethical reasons.

Yeah we aren't a moral and or ethical country.....

Works fine....if you are a heathen. I don't want our country to be known as the disney land of drugs and hookers

Pot yeah, they might as well legalize and tax it. People who do harder drugs that like to toke up just might quit their harder stuff for the cheaper legal weed.

As for hard stuff like crack heroin and meth; I've seen 1st hand what they do to people and it isn't pretty. If they legalized hard stuff when a poor user goes broke and wants to get high, they'll just steal or pawn stuff they own, do whatever they can to come up with some money. It'd just turn our government into one giant cartel instead of the privately owned cartels. They'd have to fight for control of the industry just like oil.

Legalizing hallucinogens would instantly cause a resurgence in hippies, and no one wants that. Our countries park system would be ruined.

no to all.

too many dumb ***** as it is running around the US.

yes the gov will benefit from tax, but the increase in crime will just offset that. Who knows what else would result from drugs being legalized.

abuse, homicide, suicides, heavy machinery accidents, theft/crime, ca.com... etc.
