Im 50/50 on ARod going to the HOF...its sad that he didnt need it in the first place

BTW...I dont totallly believe his statement today

Big mistake by Bonds is that he is still denying the fact that he took steroids...dumbass

so your telling me that whenever alex breaks the homerun record he should be looked at the same as pujols when he breaks it? If so then you really aren't understanding the whole point here. A rod was a legit 35-40 homerun guy before 2001. It is a fact, just look at the stats. Then after he used steroids and gained 25 pounds, he is all of a sudden hitting 45-55 homeruns, that is a bunch of bullshit. In fact, i bet all 3 of his 50 homer seasons would have never happened if he didn't use steroids. His numbers were awesome yes, but became so much better power wise afterwards. It is possible that if he didn't use steroids that he may still be around 500 or less career homeruns, and everything he has done since 2001 has something to do with steroids, whether you want to admit it or not.

i agree, and i never had a problem with arod until now, at least he didn't make excuses. I have to give him credit for that.

i hate baseball but hell no he shouldnt get in

on top of that he should be forced to repay every cent he made in the years he says he was using.

that should go for any pro sport

Bonds has everything to lose now (including his freedom) for doing what everybody else was doing. You have to remember that they never had a tainted sample from him up until a few weeks ago. A-Rod had some evidence in front of him that he couldn't deny. As did Pettitte.

I think the bigger mistake is Clemens. He has a witness with evidence, his right hand man and his wife saying that he was juicing and he is denying it.

But his actions brought excitement to the sport. Do the owners give back all the money that they made off of him too? It goes hand in hand.

Everybody else was perjuring thimselves, except Clemens. I suspect they'll go after him also.

I think any person should be permitted to use steroids if they're made aware of the side-effects.

Now whether steroids are permitted in baseball or not is another argument. I personally don't care if the players use it, as I see it as the natural evolution of "finding an edge" in sports that has existed for as long as competition has; the important part of sports is being better than your contemporaries. Still, MLB's job is to do what is necessary to satisfy the collective owners, and as a private business they can basically do whatever they want. Oddly enough, it's probably why MLB didn't do anything to stop the players when they knew about it ages ago.

Right. I would think those with inferior talent and skill would juice up too much and flame out rather quick. While those not juicing would stick around a lot longer.

While I support the use of steroids, I do think there should be public notice of who is and who isn't using. With no penalties, economic or legal. Fans could then cheer and support players who didn't use them...they would make far more money. (because performance only matters if the fans care. If Player A hit 100 home runs in a season and the seats where empty, he wouldn't get paid very much.) At least in my idealistic sense. I am all about open and transparent operations so consumers can make the proper choice.
